So my main issue is this:
I would prefer top mount jacks also BUT that requires using a 1590BBS type enclosure like the Super 300.
of my normal suppliers, one doesn't carry those, and the other only has bare aluminum (hence the brushed aluminum finish on the Super 300).
There are some suppliers in the US who can get me 1590BBS enclosures that are powder coated and UV printed, but the cost to me is at least 2-3x higher mostly because of shipping and also their MOQs are quite a bit higher than what I am comfortable with.
As it is right now, there is barely enough room inside the enclosure to fit this circuit board:
Anyway, i ordered the boards and pots yesterday. I should have everything in about 2 weeks and can test to make sure I didn't make any stupid mistakes. I can also swap out some of the components to see the difference between channel 1 vs channel 2. If there's a significant difference I can see if I can add an internal dip switch or something to go between the two but 'm not sure where I'd end up putting it lol.
After that I'd feel more comfortable about pre-orders

Man that is just plain awesome. Side jacks are fine with me, and the two channels rock if that works. This is great stuff. My 400+ mostly stays home because of the weight and my TT is awesome but I miss the graphic. This is the best of both worldsSo my main issue is this:

Jealous! Wish I still had a 400+ to compare to my TTMan that is just plain awesome. Side jacks are fine with me, and the two channels rock if that works. This is great stuff. My 400+ mostly stays home because of the weight and my TT is awesome but I miss the graphic. This is the best of both worlds

I'll plan on doing a comparison amongst the three when the Super 400 is available. I gotta say, the Super 300 is what convinced me to get rid of my SVP (and my SVP convinced me to get rid of my SVT and my SVT-2).
Bought a Super 300 off of Reverb, played with it last night - I love it! Its def a keeper, here are some thoughts:
- Works well as a amp on the edge of distortion, so playing softly is clean but digging in gives you some great distorted sounds that doesn't cut the low end.
- no wet/dry mix knob like most bass distortions, but I didn't seem to miss it, which means it does a good job not cutting low end.
- plays well with other pedals - was going thru IE Dubterranea --> IE Polytope --> IE Xerograph Delux --> S300, sounded awesome
- the Gain knob is pretty touchy, if you want clean you are barely turning it up. when all the way down the volume cuts out, you have to find the sweet spot and gets pretty grindy pretty quick. As others have said I'd love a "high/low gain" switch that when set low would give you more fine tuning on the gain.
- pedal sounds good no matter what the settings are. cranking eq/gain/ultra and dialing back Level still sounds great.
- The label "Bright" on the right footswitch is just a warning not to stare directly at the pedal when turning it on, you will be blinded. Those are some dam bright LEDs.
- I was not a fan of the Broughton SV-Pre at all, had it and sold it. I really didn't like what it did to the low low end, seemed to just cut it out.
- still trying to figure out the Ultra and the bright switch, been re-reading this thread for hints...

I’m hoping around the end of the month. Been so swamped with other projects that I haven’t been able to tweak either of them yet.
Just received my Super 300, and did 5 minutes A/Bing with the SV-Pre. Two flavours of awesome i'd say. SV-Pre got more clean range and somehow clankier cutting mids, Super 300 is thicker, smoother and more prone to drive. Found my Apex before the Super 300 def helps keeping Super 300 clean-ish tone under control, taming these lows big transients which make it distorts pretty early, even at low gain range. HPF upfront would make sense as well.

I moved the Super 300 to the mini board… to be used with sessions where the main thing is tone. Not sure what’s going in the empty space yet.

@Sensei Tim - just out of curiosity, would you ever consider a pedal version of the Fender TBP-1? I've always wanted a Fender Tone Stack with a parametric EQ and OD options. I loved the TBP, but moved away from rack gear.

that's right. it uses a 12au7 with an SMPS to boost the voltage to 200v using a 9v/500mA supply. Sounds really sweet. It's housed in a 1590XX sized enclosure with the tube inside the enclosure. I never liked the idea of having the tube exposed. That's just asking for trouble.
