I have absolutely zero idea :bag: I actually hand-built one (there's a TB thread on the pedal, it's been randomly produced before) and loved it, and then broke it with a bad drop. Just happened to randomly suggest it to ME and boom, here we are.

Considering there's zero other TMB2 pedals available to buy, I'd say it's a NEED so you can try it out :D

I think they are all variations on the Fender TMB tonestack (certainly at least the Thespian and 400 are). I love that tonestack for bass, and am very interested to hear his implementation of it in both of these (a Mesa 400+ was my main amp for years and very curious to hear a solid-state interpretation)

Yeah the Thespian and the Super 400 are different enough that I'm gonna want both. 400+ has been my gold standard of tone for I don't know how long, and the mid boost on the Thespian (plus tube) is something that I have been looking for for quite some time. If the Monoblock is based on the Fender stack as well I'll prob skip that one.

I have a TT800, but really want something more portable. I love Preamps and I have a board set up where it's easy to swap them out and the Super 400 fills a major hole. If it's as good as the Super 300 it will be a keeper.

anyone compare the thespian to the alembic f1x (which is still the best version out there) or the AMT, or the <bunch of other clones out there>?

I'm looking forward to reports on the Super 400 as well - the studio i play in has a Mesa Boogie 400+ and i swear its the best tube bass amp out there - be interested to see how close the solid state pedal version can match that 90lb 10 tube (4 12ax7 6 6L6) monster.

Still loving the 300, but i wish the sweet spot for gain was larger - i like that edge of breakup sound, where when you play softly its not distorted but as you dig in it gets dirty.

I plan on doing a report. I currently have a number of Alembic clones (and even had an actual FX1 at one point) and have had a ton of them in the past looking for the "right" one.

I'll do one for the Super 400 as well.

I found a trick with the 300. I have an always-on limiter pedal that I keep on just to tame the really high peaks from my envelope filter/bass synth. It's very transparent and it only activates at super high peaks.

I had it adjusted for unity gain, but I put it in front of the 300 and dropped the gain on the limiter and viola! Instant room on the 300 gain knob.

IIRC the treble mid and bass are a James type tonestack and the 5 band is a gyrator type.
