I am back from Ida exile and got a chance to play with this today a little more. Really gets that old 800RB vibe. I feel like I should buy a set of Hartke aluminum 4*10's
Yes I’m liking it. Fairly subtle. I had a Keeeley Bassist but it was to sensitive for my taste. The difference between all on and not on was about the width of the dial marker line. Perhaps something was faulty with it? Happy with the Ampeg.
I sold a few items on Reverb this week and I'm struggling whether to push the button on the 800.Lets look at a pro- con list;
1) I am still waiting for my Super 300 to get here.
2) When it does that'll make #10 in my collection. Kinda insane.
3) Do I need another one?
4) Must take control of my G.A.S.
OK let's see the counter argument;
1) I WANT IT !!!
Common sense wins again so I'll probably be ordering the Super 800.
If you don't order one now to try, eventually you'll panic-buy a used one at a steeper price because your curiosity gets the best of you wanting to try the pedal.
So really, you're saving yourself money by just buying it now.
Just what I need, someone that uses the same logic as me.
Also, I just got the email that the Longhorn bass I have had on preorder for a few months has been finally shipped so I will have to pay the first of four installments on it.Then I have to get it past the wife and that won't be easy with it's distinctive shape and color( actually she doesn't give me much grief as evidence of my 28 other basses) And I'm also expecting a speaker IR I recently ordered.So the 800 will unfortunately have to be pushed back for a bit.But make no mistake I will have it.Retirement is getting expensive.

It has arrived ! Eight days before schedule,and I just threw it on one of my boards and it sounds great.I'm hoping one of the more experienced Super 300 owners can offer a baseline to start at,and some advice on the Hz frequency switch along with the High and low switches.Though I've played a few gigs through an SVT in years past I never owned one so I'm in new territory.I am back from Ida exile and got a chance to play with this today a little more. You'll probably get a few different answers. There are lots of paths to good tone on the Super 300.
I play a Precision style bass, old roundwounds, with a pick. I like leaving the Bright footswitch on all the time, Ultra Low switch off, Ultra High on, mid hz at 440. Gain around 9 o'clock, cut the bass to about 11 o'clock, boost the Mid to about 1 o'clock, Treble a little less than that.

I have somewhat similar settings as Cusar5, and switch between 440 and 880 often while leaving everything else the same. Bright switch is always on. I'm either using my Ric or P bass with a pic. The Ultra and Bright switches really change the sound.
I'm in hog heaven.So far so good.Now I start trying different basses and there's a lot of them.I'm going to play for a bit longer but then I've got to get ready for an Orville Peck show tonight.Shoud be a good one I'm thinking.It's good to once again get out among the living.
