Sounds good. Honestly, for an electronic device like this, a plastic knob would be the least of my worries. They cost nothing and are easily replaced.
I'm not worried in the least. I just think that a $250 pedal should come with zero flaws. Not being able to properly turn a knob right out of the box is not what I expected. I'm sure he'll replace it and in the meantime I put a new one on from another pedal and I'm cool. I just want the right looking knob is all. Not too much to ask I think after dropping $250.
It's a recording setup. Just straight from the Super 800 into a Boss LM-2B into my MOTU M2
Just want to put on record that Tim has taken care of the knob issue in a very courteous, professional and quick way. I didn't want this issue to hang on this forum without letting you guys know it was resolved to my full satisfaction. Thanks Tim!!
Tim will take care of any issues you have with his products. I actually sent the Rasta 300 back for some tweaks to the gain structure, and now it's perfect!
After an evening with my new 800 I gotta say it's another massive winner. Sounds and feels just like my 800. Thick and solid tone. I like how it really stays clean unless you dig in and the crunch is amazing.
I got into the preamp thing a couple of years after my retirement.These things except for expensive rack mounts basically and man,how I'd have loved these back in my heavy gigging days.I'm getting the best tones ever ironically.And though I have way too many for my needs,the 800 beckons like Ahab strapped on the back of the White Whale.In the 80s the GK 800 had a sweet tone and were one of the most widely used amps.They definitely had some secret sauce.But first things first,I can't wait to get my hands on the Super 300 I ordered.Tim hoped to get this batch out after the holiday and that would be great.
I have not, but those look very cool! I'd probably consider one if I was in the market for an amp, but I'm totally happy with my Mesa D800+. It works perfectly as a clean platform for the Super 300, or whatever other preamp/gain stages I put in front.
That's cool. One rehearsal space I was playing in often has D800s (no +), so no FX loop. But I'm just getting into a new band now who has a monthly space and they have an early '70s Ampeg B15 there I can use. We'll see if I use that or try and bring in my own rig.
