Whole lotta retro and James Brown tribute. NIce execution and some cool lighting/atmosphere stuff. Interesting blend of Motown and 70s disco funk too. Though I was there and still can't figure out why the 70s are so hot.

I was wondering what he was playing...the blocks were throwing me off. So it was a Fender Custom Shop Precision? I love the gold flake and the blocks.....
Highlight of the Superbowl for me was Renee Fleming's version of the anthem.
Loved that they were actually singing.
Flea's bass was plugged in ....
Right afterwards, the FoxSports MC commented-I really enjoyed the show. I love live playing and performing. Bruno Mars' live act reworks a lot of James Brown, Motown, and Michael Jackson, Bruno Mars has the talent to really bring those influences to life.
For what the 1/2 Time Show is...I also thought it beat the Hell outta whatever has been trotted out there these last few years. The RHPs did what they do, and they did it well. This beat the hell out the acts I have seen for the last few years.
Were they though? I've always heard that with any performance like this, they lip sync over a real live track that was recorded in an earlier rehearsal.
RHCP stunk. They can't carry Bruno's jock.
Mars and his band KILLED. Fantastic talent, Mars.

You must be one of those teenage girls that are part of his cult following.
Bruno Mars doesn't belong on the same stage as RHCP.
No, right.. Bruno's vocal talent and killer band with his showmanship and throwback taste just couldn't possibly stand up to a 50-year-old with a hipster mustache singing his decade+ old last good song
Edit: i grew up on RHCP, don't get me wrong. But Bruno mars is talented and undeserving of the same perceived value as Rihanna or One Direction
Come talk to me when Bruno has had the success and longevity of RHCP.
Prince was definitely the best ever.
