This has gone on for almost 60 posts. A whole political thread about political threads. Can we just play our basses, please? Hoping a mod shuts it down soon.

Why? No one is forcing you to participate. You are more than welcome to play your bass if you don't want to have a discussion on a forum, which is exactly what the purpose of a forum is. I don't doubt that threads like this will help others understand the rules of the forum better, even if it is not specifically bass related.

I'm closing this, now that the question has been answered by staff members. The only thing left seems like a way for people to argue about the existence of the rule (I'm sorry, but we're not getting rid of it) or complain against moderation, which is often done to avoid public shaming of someone that violates rules.
