SWEET Ebay Deal!

I found this guy pretty amusing, and I'm thinking of filling up his mailbox with pic requests. Talk about "flakes, dreamers... song-and-dance men." If I'm "serious enough to drive down here and inspect it in-person" he'll pay shipping, though, so I've got THAT going for me. What a deal!

Of course, I'm in Colorado and he's in New Jersey, but still...

If you inspect it yourself, then wouldn't you just take it home with you if you decide to buy it? I mean, if you lived around him it sounds like a pretty fair deal. Go see in person if you like it. But you being in Denver is like...come on. It doesn't sound all that fair for you.

W....T....F....

"This auction is for a motorized hospital bed with remote control unit. Everything works. I just want it out of my house.

No shipping is available for this item. It is being sold as-is where-is. Translation: Bring enough manpower to get it out of here because I am not helping."

Um, yes. Of course. That was a joke and my way of pointing out that the shipping offer is kind pointless, since the only way anyone is going to buy it is if they can see it first... and the only way they can see it first is to...

Oh, nevermind. I guess it's not as funny as I thought is was. Sorry.

That is a VERY odd way to open a bid. How can anyone expect to sell an item on eBay
with no photo? And then "all requests for photos will be deleted?" :eyebrow:

Maybe he just wants alot of people to drive to his place, where he will talk you into
attending an Amway or Primerica meeting or something dumb like that.

If you read the feedback, you can see that sometimes the same person posts more than once... repetitively. Personally I wouldn't buy it because of the lack of pictures, could be a scam who knows.

You should keep the option open that its possible to get friends to write good "feedbacks."

Who knows... there could be an underground network of ebay scammers >_> <_<.

Just for amusement, I checked out some of his other auctions...all very similar...all no pictures....

This is kind of funny. Just for the heck of it, I emailed this seller about his selling tactics last night just before this auction closed. Check out his response:

Q: This actually works the OTHER WAY AROUND. If YOU were serious about SELLING your items you'd include pictures in your auctions. Notice no bids on any of your current auctions...

A: Blah, blah, blah. One of the main reasons that I specialize in rare coins and not musical instruments on eBay is that the numismatists know what they want and actually have a pot to pee into. The musicians seem to be nothing more than a collection of freaks and malcontents. And, I will lay odds that lees than 1/10 of 1% of them have the bread to buy my ES-175. So, why a zillion requests for pix of that guitar? Because they are bored and stupid - not an attractive combination.

I emailed him back congratulating him on his recent coin sales to his fellow numismatists, which netted him a whole three dollars, while a recent auction for another ES-175 brought in over nine thousand dollars.

Yeah, I need to get a life, but I've kind of enjoyed debating him.

He doesn't look like the kind of person you'd expect to see playing a hollowbody jazz guitar like a 175. He looks like he'd own a korean guitar shaped like an axe with phony blood drippings on it. Or real blood drippings on it.....

And what's with the 'freaks and malcontents' crack? He says that like it's some sort of negative thing! :p
