The neck on that 3ts is beautiful. I'd like to think they didn't skunk it simply because the wood was so good.

This may be true. When I took the fingerboard off my SX-6 to turn it into a fretless it was apparent that the skunk stripes were purely decorative since the truss rod mechanisms are inserted under the fingerboard before you glue it on.

You enter a large number (something more than might be in stock) into the shopping cart and then it will tell you that it can't fill the order because there are only X in stock...

Um, be sure to empty the cart before leaving!

I dunno. That part may be true. It just depends on what they fill the stripes with and how the grain runs etc. Would be super nice if stripes were graphite but I sure doubt that is true on an SX!

Sure would be super nice! But if it was, you can bet it would be noted in the description!

It doesn't directly. To find out, you put a large number like 100 in the quantity and add it to your shopping cart. A box will appear at the top of the shopping cart page that tells you how many are in stock and that they don't have enough to fulfill your order.

I have a bunch of Rondo basses.. the SX bass models are fantastic (the Douglas are duds imo). Worth far more than what the price tag suggests. The guitars are hit or miss, I've let go more than I've kept.

I have a 6 string SX that looks like a Vai-style shredder, love it. I have a Douglas 7 string that is better all around in parts, not a fan.
