The neck on that 3ts is beautiful. I'd like to think they didn't skunk it simply because the wood was so good.
This may be true. When I took the fingerboard off my SX-6 to turn it into a fretless it was apparent that the skunk stripes were purely decorative since the truss rod mechanisms are inserted under the fingerboard before you glue it on.
Where does it say how many are left?
So it's not true that the skunk stripe makes the neck stiffer?
I dunno. That part may be true. It just depends on what they fill the stripes with and how the grain runs etc. Would be super nice if stripes were graphite but I sure doubt that is true on an SX!
