By my rough count currently 4% of the first 150 posts currently in the Effects forum have the word "synth" clearly in their title. Not sure if this truly warrants a sub-forum, but it would certainly make locating synth bass info easier for those that are seeking discussions on it.

I think that's because most folks don't think that synth keyboard discussion, or maybe even modular synth discussion, belongs in the Effects forum. All the more reason to have its own subforum.

I put my http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f36/experimental-fully-modular-bass-rig-902681/ because I really didn't know where else to put it. I was afraid that if I put it in the ~amps~ subforum that I'd get a ration from the sniffers in there because it isn't about some bass head that sits on a cab.

To be honest I really don't know where something like my X-Rig belongs. It's partially a synth, but also a large part of it is a bass preamp, and a processor, as well as FX, and a router. In the end, it's the whole rig.

That's just in the titles. I did a search and found many more than that because posters used words like 'bass pedals', Taurus, etc.

The moderators are discussing the subforum, and will let me know shortly. Fingers crossed..or should it be cables crossed? :D

I've been a member of this board for a long while now, and after a short break of not playing bass as much as I used to, I feel like I've caught the bug all over again.

That being said, personally I've always thought that there should be a dedicated subforum for synth bass players. Granted, the only gear I have that closely resembles "synth bass" are my set of Roland PK-5 pedals controlling the Moog Taurus VST in Cantibile Lite, but I've always been fascinated by synth bass and think it's legit. Just my two cents, of course! ;) :bassist:
