I bought Spectrum when it came out originally. I think I was in about 9th grade. It is a killer album. I'd love to hear how Leland Sklar ended up on the album instead of Will Lee (I never knew Will was expected to be on it). It also demonstrates how terrific Tommy Bolin was, another great talent who left us far too young (26 I think).

BTW, here's a killer version of Stratus. George Duke rips it and Stefan Redtenbacher is an awesome bassist who I had not seen before (and much more interesting to me than TW).

The whole point of this thread, for me anyway, was to learn about more musicians that had that same feel and approach. So I could gain more listening material that I enjoy. I know there's people who are faster, more complex, or maybe even have more soul. But for some reason out of all I've heard I just really dig her feel. Which is why I wanted to find more that are similar. I suppose that would have been a better title "Who is similar to Tal"
I've heard many many many skilled musicians to the likes of which I'll never be able to play, and that's ok. I can respect talented musicians, there's no doubt!
