Talk bass app

I just got the tapatalk 2.99 app. It's a little harder to read due to the light coloring, but not bad. Usually by now I would have been kicked off the TB app, but this tapatalk seems to be much more stable. Worth it IMO .

I'm still new to TB so please excuse me. I want to know, how do I start a thread from my phone? I can respond to threads and leave comments but I see no option to post a new thread. Is it a upgrade membership sort of thing?

Ok, I bought the Tapatalk app today (non version 2), and find it a tad annoying that there are a list of 10 color schemes, all for in-app sale at .99 cents. I'm a bit surprised that the developer is going to this length to re-coup pennies... Maybe these turn in to major dollars (I'll never know).

The really annoying part is in this version I have, I cannot send a PM... It displays for a millisecond, like the current TalkBass app, and slides away. Sort of a surprise, so I'll send the developer an email to ask what's up. If you bump up to the next version (2) for $3.99, it's got reviews that are..... drum roll........ oops I meant, bass slide........ BUGGY, and CRASH!

Anyway, enough of the complaint department, but I thought spending a bit would make me a fan boy of this app...

The old app was better. No chance of that coming back, huh? No crashed but the functionality of the old app was just nicer. Not mention you can't even tell who's being quoted any more.

The new app seems to me to be just the same as tapatalk but only for TB. As I already have tapatalk which is the same but cover several forums I see no need for the TB app which is also not as stable as tapatalk.

Two questions:

1) Who designs the TB app?
2) Do they know about this thread?

I mean, we can discuss the TB app till we're blue in the face, but... Is it doing any good? Just curious. :)

There is a TB forum specifically dedicated to support for the mobile app:

http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f237/

The forum administrators are definitely monitoring the threads there. Bugs that have been reported in that forum have been submitted to the developer, resulting in at least one fix that is currently awaiting approval from Apple:

http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f237/new-app-no-pm-thread-moderation-953204/

I would strongly suggest that people report bugs and make suggestions in that forum rather than in OT.

:hmm:

So what's the point then? Just sayin'. ;)

I just submitted a review on the iTunes app store for it. Maybe if we ALL go leave one-star bombs for them?

A quick glance around the market shows several other forums that have exactly the same look as the TB app... Like some developer designed a turd and then somehow talked people into buying the template. (EDIT: Ahh... it's a talkbass BRANDED tapatalk app... probably why). It's quite disappointing because lately I do most of my Talkbass on my iPad. Lately I've started to load up the website in a browser, rather than fighting through the app.
