I have the opportunity to purchase a Dave Eden WT1205 and a Yorkville 8x8 cab, both for $350 from a friend.
My dilemma is I've been saving to go all lightweight. And this is contrary to what I've been saving for.
I'm looking at having Jorg W. Schroeder make me 2, PL112 cabs or getting 1 GRbass 212slim+, and then a Quilter BB802.
Ive already tried unloading my other heavy weight rigs and that's proven to be very tough. An SVT-PRO 6 and 6x10. So, I don't want to buy those items and resell, the market is too slow.

Parts for both of those are no longer available, I believe.

The 8x8 was a really weird sounding cabinet and unusually heavy. Some people thought it was a cheaper alternative to an SWR Henry 8x8, but it really wasn't.
I also remember the drivers being easily "angered" without playing them all that loudly.
It didn't sell well, either.

If I were in your situation, I'd skip that stuff and just go with new, modern head and cabs. The current stuff is quite a few generations from that stuff.

I can't even get rid of my Ampeg SVT-PRO 6 And 6x10 in excellent shape.and I listed it at a very affordable price. Decided just to keep it for now.

I miss my Eden and other heavy amps...and even bought back some....But...

They always stay at home and my lightweight amps get the gig EVERY time!!

I had a David Eden Metro (2 chan head + 2x10 & tweeter) and an Eden 4x10 cab. Didn't matter that they sounded great. Lugging those things around was why i sold the amp/cab and went ampless over 15 years ago before all the cool kids were doing it.

Also, even though it's cheap, it's not a great deal. You're basically paying to have to lug around an ungodly heavy behemoth with outdated technology you probably can't get parts for, and most techs won't touch. When mine broke, i had to track down the one dude in the entire city of Portland OR (where i lived at the time) who would fix Eden amps.

Those prices seem really nice. But if you’re at the age where you should be going lighter, why add more stuff that you really won’t use. Stay on your chosen path. It sounds like you’ve thought a lot about it. Modern lightweight rigs are getting more expensive as it is, particularly cabs. Save your money.

Walk away, go for the lite stuff, you'll never really breakeven, if you try to resell, while OK in it's day, there is better stuff out there. don't lose focus on your end goal, for lite weight gear

This is the everlasting internal battle between our well planed path and the shiny object. If you have planned a path with logic and saved for that path stick with it. You see an opportunity that is completely counter to your desired path and it is tempting but in the long run will likely make you unhappy.

it isn’t about the particular bit of gear, it is about your plans.

I've recently seen listing on various sites with WT-1205 heads ask for a good deal more than $350. I'm thinking you could get at least $350 out of GC for it. As far as an 8x8 cab, to me I'm thinking you could get a couple of hundred back out of it.
That said a lot of what you are going to get back is going to be based on the condition of the equipment.

You said you want something else or, go another direction. So, why would you buy a boat anchor at any price contrary to what you want? Does that help?
