What guitar playing tips can you give me?

Power chords are boring and overrated. Find your own fun movable voicings. Don't get suckered into tuning all the guitar strings in 4ths. Get used to the one differently tuned string.

I'm only playing enough to outline my song. My musical partner left her guitar at my place after our last practice. One day I came home with a progression in mind. With her permission, I used my partner's guitar and have been recording ideas until I developed a solid form. Now I'm working on lyrics and bass lines. Phew, what an answer.
