The more I'm thinking about this the more ridiculous it becomes. LAG, are you SERIOUSLY trying to argue that the OP knowingly sent you a bass with a defective neck and truss and then tried to get you to send it back, asked the mods to help him get it back, asked the TB community at large to help him get it back and was ignored by you for over four months and we should think you somehow got taken??!! Oh sure. The dude decided that he better get back that "unusable" bass really quick because that's sooo much better than a reliced and usable bass thats a little extra reliced.. sure. Yeah...I bet.
Your behavior for months was the hallmark of someone "getting one over" on someone and now you wanna play the victim? I can't tell if that's ballsy or pathetic.

er... what??? AC works all year round. really. you turn it on, wait a minute and put your hand in front of one of the vents, and either cold air will be blowing out or it won't be. of course, if nothing is blowing, that's a definite issue.

i don't know you or the OP, but not responding to his PMs for several months doesn't seem very skippy after a trade.

Actually, that is very common. It's not about waiting. It's about trusting the seller.

Did I already say I don't buy used stuff off the internet, except for CL, where I can check it out in person before buying?

I learned this 20 years ago when a friend bought a used Harley, sight unseen, from across the country because a respectable guy that knew the owner of the bike said he was a good guy. So my friend gets the bike and the front brake is missing. He was able to replace it, but it was rare, hard to find, and VERY expensive.

It's good to learn from your mistakes, but even better to learn from the mistakes of others.

It's more for the 'air conditioners don't work in the winter' comment. Then again, headlights don't work in the daytime so I guess it's possible.

People really want to trust other people. It's how the Nigerian scam can work. It's amazing how people will trust even a used car salesman. For that matter, look at some of the politicians that still get elected WHILE IN PRISON.

And regarding the truss rod, it's entirely possible the seller didn't know about it. If you have never used your spare tire, is it your fault when the guy you sold the car to gets a flat and finds out the spare is flat too?

I'm not taking sides on this one since I know neither of the guys involved, but I've seen people get screwed and yet not blame the person that screwed them and I've seen people treated actually pretty fairly and yet they think they got screwed. And everything in between.

What kinda messed this deal up was that it was already a "distressed" bass to begin with. If it was not, there would have been less room for the seller to describe it as he did.

I see buying a new "distressed" bass as the equivalent of buying a brand new jeep that has been factory "dented and scraped up". It makes zero sense to me. Zero. But as I always say, opinions vary. :)
