why, umlaüts, of course!
actually me and my friend noticed this recently. we were talking about speeker dispersion (or however you spell it) and the phycology of the people who use neo cabs..."
My point was, the guy who doesn't do either, but talks like he's a seasoned pro........
You can track all day long by yourself, and get good results. But that doesn't make you a studio musician because you record yourself a lot.
I've logged close to 200 gigs thus far this year alone.
And literally thousands in the last 25 years.
But it's the guy who sits at home either tracking with his Mac and a Digi-001 but will tell you how to get a good sound through a Neve counsel. Or will tell you how to EQ to get you bass to cut through on a big stage etc.....

In the real world people give you strange looks when you tell them the janky worn-out faded crackly banana-necked bass is actually worth $10,000 because its a 1968 Jazz bass with all the original soldering....
It's not the method in which it's played, just don't tell me how well a bass works in the mix when you play 4 shows a year.
Or wax poetic about the nuances that amp XXX has on the gig as well.
Just because your bank account allows you to have some great gear does NOT mean you have the knowledge that goes with some of that gear.
If the Search Function is to be believed, then it all stared on Feb 16th 2009:Just out of curiosity, how long has the mothman thing been around? I think I was the first to mention it in my thread that I read, so did I invent the Mothman trend?![]()
Ok I am lame.
Can someone point me to a thread or explain to the slow-wit what the 'carrot' joke was? It's driving me nuts.
Long story short, it means "other" (like voting in a poll). The background story, don't ask...
I'm giving you a freebee.........I'm sure the guys here, who would rather torture you with everything but the answer![]()

By the way, I like carrots.
of course, as do we all. that's why they must be included on all ballots, so that no longer will we, the carrot loving public, be forced to suffer the ignorance of those unenlightened carrot haters. RISE UP, I SAY, AND JOIN THE JIHAD, AND SPILL THE BLOOD OF THE CABBAGE AND POTATO LOVING HEATHENS. LET THEIR HEADS BE FOISTED UP ON CARROT-TOPPED PIKES AT THE GATES OF THE CITY SO THAT ALL WILL KNOW, ALL WILL KNOW THE PRICE OF CARROT-HATRED.
(pant)(pant)
i especially like carrot cake.
Man I TOTALLY mean no disrespect here, but you cracked me up when you put in the (or however you spell it) - and you got 'dispersion' right and misspelled 'speaker'!
I know. I have a weird sense of humor - but thanks for making my day.
This. I have never seen another market where beat up, abused guitars sell for the same as mint condition ones because it has been "reliced", or has "mojo".

You forgot "phycology".
+1!
But it's like saying you took a test drive of a brand new BMW all the down your driveway and back into the garage.
Mentioning grilled cheese sandwiches can get blank stares, too.
From what I have noticed of both, TB and the real world have very little in common.
