How long do tapewounds last for y'all. New set on my p bass. Wondering if it's like flats where I can throw them on and leave them forever or do you occasionally change them? Or is it just subjective

The D'Addario tapes I play every day sound just the same (to me) today as when new nine months ago.

9 mo old tapes that i will keep forever. (Do plan on trying out flats and chromes too and switch as i feel....until i get a second bass).

But i played 18 year old stock dead rounds for a year when i got my eb0. Im not picky! Actually liked the sound. like tapes even more.

Which of the LaBella white tapes are you running? I understand there are three: the white tapes, copper white tapes and gold white tapes. Seems to be some minor disagreement over which ones are which. LaBella says the gold white tapes are brightest and some TBers report it's the coppers that sing best? Not yet played any of the whites, maybe @SLaPiNFuNK funk has some first hand knowledge of the differences?

The white gold tapes. They are a bit btighter than DTF's But I would not call then brite.

I have gold whites and copper whites and so far I really haven't been able to tell any difference... they are both VERY NICE

Does anyone know the color of the wrappings of the three Labelle white tapewounds? I have ones with orangish wrappings on one bass and deep blue wrappings on another, but I don't remember which is which.

Well... the Roto 88 tapes on this MIK Rogue VB-100 have been there for.. jeez, 5 years now? And, it - along with my Rick 4001 - are my "go-to" basses, and live on stands next to my amp. So, it gets played a lot. They still sound pretty much like they did when I put them on there. I treat tapes like I do any other strings; when they have trouble staying in tune, and won't intonate - they're stone dead; into the dumpster they go. I'd say that won't be happening to these Rotos any time soon...

Hey club members. I'd love to know what kind of music y'all play with your tapes. Obviously, you can use em for anything, but it'd be instructive to hear what kind of band concept you're fitting into with them - jazz, metal, reggae, etc.

Copper whites stayed shiney for a year with clean fingers. Then I ate dill pickle flavored potato chips while playing. They tarnished under my right hand but no one can hear the difference. It's hard to get on camera but it looks "nice"? Eh, I like green and it holds pitch.
The copper whites seem to age like la bella black tapes.
