I'm in the same boat I just hope I'm able to get in on this if not then I guess it wasn't meant to be.
I've tried and failed to make contact also. I understand the guy might be swamped, but I've decided to move on. Good luck to the rest of you!
I bought one on eBay a day or so after the thread started and received it last Thursday. It's the JT-500JJ, the 5 string jazz with black cherry pickguard. By accident, I purchased the blue pickguard one. Messaged him requesting a change to the Black Cherry and he obliged, no problem.
It arrived double boxed and included two allen wrenches for bridge and trussrod. I never received any tracking info and was a bit concerned, but it showed up the day after I emailed inquiring about it....all good.
3 out of the 5 neck/body pocket screws were just slightly stripped, but enough that there were sharp burrs hanging up on my shirt. I eBay msg'd him requesting replacements and he sent 5 of them right away. There was an extra misdrilled hole on the neck heel, but of course it has no effect and isn't visible. I swapped the screws out, tweaked the truss rod and setup to my liking and it plays great! Low action, effortless playing neck. Haven't done any measuring, but the spacing feels tighter at the nut than my Fender fivers and most other fivers except maybe my Stingray 5. The finish is kind of like the early 93-ish natural ash Stingray's that I think were called satin finish. I loved them, and love this finish as well. The neck is similar, but I will probably hit it with the Musicman wax/oil Stingray neck treatment. The back of the neck did have some horizontal lines obviously from leaning up against a table/desk edge repeatedly. Doesn't bother me, but worth mentioning. Nice fretwork, level frets, no sharp ends, abalone inlays look great. Pickguard is beautiful, what a great idea! Plenty of trussrod access with the cut down included trussrod and larger cavity. Beefy bridge. Acceptable tuners, but definitely mid range quality. Clean and paint shielded control cavity with nice tight fitting wood cover that matches the pickguard.
The pickups and preamp sound great. Run flat it has a nice midrange bite which is my sweet spot. The 3 band eq is powerful and a little is pretty effective, especially the bass. At first I wasn't keen on the cable jack being right at the bottom instead of cocked to the side, but I've found it forces me to remember to unplug my active bass when I put it on the stand so I will save my battery. Oh yeah, did I mention it feels really light? Also, balances perfectly despite the light body.
I really dig this bass. For $300 it is a ridiculous value. Played it Tuesday at rehearsal in a funk/dance band and it killed. Feels great, looks great, and sounds great. Tempted to spring for a Musicman pickup version....
Hang in there with this guy, I'm sure he's busy as hell right now. Like I said, he was very responsive with sending the screw replacements, so I think he is just drowning in his one man shop right now.

I ordered mine through Ebay and heard nothing for a week. Then he e-mailed tracking info and it took about five days from that. All good, double boxed and secure. I also bought the JT500-JJ and think it is great. For $300 it is quite the steal. No problems with mine at all.
If you don't like yours, I'll trade you a near mint ATK 300 for it. Just puttin' it out there...
He says he never got mine, he may have an overactive junk-filter, he was really nice on the phone both times though. All that being said I still haven't gotten my invoice he promised to send out once we got off the phone last time, however many days ago that was, so consider me UNSUBSCRIBED. I still might buy one if given the chance, I don't know, from a review on here it seems they're kinda haphazardly thrown together.
Whenever someone does not respond to your email, try sending from a different account.
Often, it is a spam filter flagging you before the recipient ever sees your email.
Same here, but as stated before I'm sure he's just swamped. Now if December rolls around and no communication still...then I will start to get worried.
