Q: Which of the 10,000 pieces out there do you recommend for my upcoming solo recital (which is in two weeks), knowing nothing about my playing experience, the music I've performed in the past, my technical level, or the nature of the recital itself? BTW, I haven't really been working on anything in particular for the past two months, but I have to throw something together soon. Help!

I'm tired of Olives (or is it Olivs?) separating at the bridge so I'm going back to Spiros.

I'm tired of guts going out of tune so I'm going back to Spiros.

I'm tired of Obligatos rolling under my fingers so I'm going back to Spiros.

I can't figure out how to install Velvet strings so I'm going back to Spiros.

I love Spiros but I hate the whiney G string. What should I replace the G with?

Now that I have an Olive (or is it Oliv?) G with my Spiros, I like it so much I want to try the D.....

Q.) I'm about to order new strings, and I'm confused about the difference between Original Flexes and Flex '92s. I've contacted Solaflex, Flex Shampoo, Flexible Flyer, Bela Fleck, and Ray Parker... all to no avail. Can someone help me?

A.) No living human has the correct answer to your question. You might try to contact Pirastro via Email, whose website links you to an automaton that will answer your question in a vague manner, seemingly unrelated to the subject matter of your original query.
This process typically takes 4-6 weeks.

Yeah, but Ray is superhuman. Duh. You either need to omit him from the original list of contacts, or say "no living creature" or somesuch to make it work.

Do a search. Better yet, have your teacher do a search while driving a Prius with a bass in it.
