TBer MIA

Kinda makes me wonder - how many of you DO know other TBers in real life? Does anyone make an effort to meet others? Get-togethers (GTGs) have been a part of TB life though I think Covid put the damper on a lot of them. I've met some folks at those in the past, though I'm not really in contact with most of them on any regular basis. I am on social media with some of us (especially the other mods), and there's ONE other member I can think of that I occasionally get to hang out with irl (our wives were actually friends first).

I think I’ve met well over two hundred TBers face to face by now including a few Mods, and I make a lot of effort to meet more at every chance. Mostly it’s been via GTGs and/or NAMM, but also some through PMs. A few of the latter are local or semi-local and we’ve actually shared stages and hung out quite a bit. And my nephew is a fairly well known TBer too, for that matter.

I've met only one TBer in person. I have had phone conversations with several, and have had a long-running conversation with several others in areas outside of here.

There was some talk a while back about having an area GTG but that never materialized. Not much talk of it since.

People come and go
And forget to close the door,
And leave their stains and cigarette butts trampled on the floor,
And when they do, remember me, remember me.

Some of them are old,
Some of them are new,
Some of them will turn up when you least expect them to,
And when they do, remember me, remember me.

Lucy you're my girl,
Lucy you're a star,
Lucy please be still and hide your madness in a jar,
But do beware: it will follow you, it will follow you.

Some of them are old
But it would help if you could smile,
To earn a crooked sixpence you'll walk many a crooked mile,
And when you do, remember me, remember me.

--------

I hope all who have gone missing are doing well.

I know some folks just move on, for various reasons. Others remain more mysterious.

Jayzuzonabicycle!

That’s both beautiful and profound.

Thank you, LBS!

Germane to this thread in the worst possible way: I know TB'er @bigtiny away from TB -- I actually knew him decades before either of us joined TB -- and he wasn't an especially active member here (last seen January 8th 2019). But I just got an alert from a friend that bigtiny passed away this month. No details, which makes it even sadder.

Sorry about your friend, Bob.

Does anyone know @DirtyDuke IRL?
If so, is he OK?
He was a pretty much daily contributor and we were in the middle of a trade deal then right after Christmas he just stopped posting and responding to my messages. I don't care if he blew me off, I just hope he's OK. We gotta look out for our fellow TBers.
I frequently disappear for a month at a time. But that's because my account keeps getting suspended. :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

Maybe some day I'll figure out the unwritten rules.

Rich isn't his 1st name...it's Duiane.
His band is Three Of Hearts.
I don't do FB...here a link (I can't see too much, if anything without a Logon)

I tried looking at that but there doesn't seem to be a FB page associated with the band itself, or anything else that would point to more information. Maybe someone with better sleuthing skills can turn up something.

Here's where I found a list of Richland123's band mates in Three of Hearts: Music – Richland Community Days (scroll down). I contacted one of them via FB Messenger, but haven't heard back.

I was looking thru Richland's gig reports... Three Of Hearts added the guitarist's wife (with the heart-shaped guitar). This pic, I dunno...something drew me to it-
