TC Electronic RH450, RS210, RS212 Review Thread

I've got my Staccato on the way! When it gets here I plan on doing a video review of the RH450 and the Staccato '51.
I'm "old school" so I started with the 212. The the orders for the 112 started pouring in so I just bit the big one and ordered a 112 and a 210 to complete the set. Medium gigs: 112 + 212. On large/outdoor gigs I will run the 212/210 stacked plus a 112 on the other side of the stage right next to the drummer (I'm his new best friend!).
Bought all of from DB. Can't give him enough praise. Good luck in expelling your GAS!

I love the idea of running 2 rs210 with the 112 as well. I am not sure how this works, because the manual for the RH 450 only says to run a minimum 4 ohm load, therefor, 2 8 ohm cabs. If the RS cabs are all 8 OHM cabs, then the minimum load would be 2.7 right with 3 of them right? Any one else out there know the specs on why this works?
FYI, I am also planning on ordering my cabs from DB when I get all my money together.
You are correct, but TC Electronic says "any combination of up to 3 cabinets" so we don't have to think about it if we use the RS cabs!

You can actually run up to any 3 TC cabs on the RH450 with no problems. I have the RS210 and 212 stack but I'll probably add another 210 soon.

I used to play with just the 212. I recently bought a 210 to play at home (moving just the head), but until a gig last Friday I had never linked them. The 212 + 210 sounds SO MUCH better than just 212. Sweeter, "crispier". Even the bandmates, that don't give a damn, noticed it and all made appreciative remarks.

The 210 and 212 work pretty well together. You get punch and upper mids from the 210 and a fat thick bottom from the 212, although I think this combo works better on a large stage in bigger venues or out doors. For a smaller venue with a cramped stage 2 of the 210's might work better because they take up less space depth wise. The 210s will give you a tighter, punchier sound but

Cool! So a 212 plus a 210 is better than 2 210s? I have a tecamp m212, 4ohm, and I don't know whether to sell it to get 2 TC cabs..

I haven't played the TC with 2 x 210, I can't compare. Having both models arguably makes your rig more versatile.

The 210s are the same height and width as the 212 but the 212 is about 6 " deeper. The TecAmp M212 is a great cab. I also have the Puma 1000 head along with the RH450, but for the price of the M212 you could get the TC 212 and 210 or 2-210's or almost 2-212's for that matter. The TecAmp stuff is great but I couldn't see spending $1200.00 for 1 212 cab. To me the TC stuff is a much better value.
I have been reflecting much on this, and of course I haven't pulled the trigger yet, but I think I have decided to go with 2 of the 210s, instead of the 212 + 210 rig. Normally, I am a twelve kind of guy but I do find myself playing mostly very cramped stages (the only kind they have in Nashville) and the deeper cabinet of the 12 means it would have to be still further from the wall to avoid boominess.
If funds allow, I will someday add the 212. Then I could have all three cabs and mix and match as each gig required.
That's the great thing about the TC speakers, you can mix and match any 3 cabs at a time. I'll be getting another 210 but will probably keep the 212. The 212 under 2-210's would kill I'm sure. Just a note, the new R112 while very compact height and width wise is the same depth as the 212. The 212 works great as a stand alone cab, very full sounding with great low end and still enough top end from the coax.
Luckily I got the Tecamp M212 cheaper new than one of the RS210s! The store has an amazing deal on a load of sealed new Tecamp stuff.
I might just keep that and see how the RH450 goes with it for a while.

Wow, you got a great deal on the TecAmp M212 considering a new RS210 is $499.00 or less. What store was this? I may get a TecAmp 212 too.
It was in the UK....they retail for £899.00, I got it absolutely brand new, sealed, and perfect condition for £349.99 with the proper box, still in its internal bag and with all the documents. The company, I think, bought another company out in a way, so they sold the Tecamp stuff cheap.

That explains it. Even at 349 pounds? It would still cost me around $600-$700.00 USD ( not sure what the exchange rate is). plus shipping to the US which would be a few hundred more I'm sure. Glad you got that great deal, I would love to get a TecAmp cab.
