Has anybody used the RH450 with the cabs in the GB Shuttle combos (STL-210T or STL-12T)? I'm pretty sure it would sound pretty good but wanted to know if anyone has tried this.

TC Electronic RH450, RS210, RS212 Review Thread

I've tried it, and it does sound good. However, the TC cabs seam "louder", and are easier to hear. The GB cabs just don't seem to have the same projection that the TC cabs have.
Interesting to hear. In a perfrect world, I would just buy 2 of the 210s and be done with it but don't have the cash. Actually, I'm kinda tethered by needing to have new lightweight 4ohm cab that I can use w/ multiple heads/setups. Been looking at the Portabass 210 and the Schroeder 1210. Either of these been paired w/ the Rebelhead?
I would get an Ampeg classic 4 x10. You can get them for close to $300 and they sound really good with the TC. They are also the smallest form factor 4 x10.

I just got the RH450. I am running it with the Berg HT112ER/EX112ER stack. The amp is incredible. I A/B'd this amp with several different cabs. For me, this combination works. It can get very close to the DB750. Just not quite as powerful of course. I came from Genz Benz 6.0 which is a great amp. For me, a little to bright but it still a great amp. The RH450 has an immediate warm tone. The older I get the more I like just a good warm bass sound. I guess it was all those years playing Ampeg.
My amp was a store demo so the preset level was almost off. Once we corrected that and set a few different EQ's up this thing is amazing. I am a usual plug in and play person. But once this thing is set it doesn't require very much tweaking depending on the room. I would like to thank Clark & Eublet for recommending some presets to try out. I would like to thank Ken (Kjung) for recommending the amp (Hurry back to Talkbass I for one miss your posts). I am still working on finding the ideal frequency settings for different basses. So far I am very impressed with the amp. I will keep gigging it and see how it goes.
I would encourage anyone interested in this amp. To not just plug in your bass and start playing. Ask to see the manual or ask someone here for some settings to try out. Also, try the head with different cabs. For my tone preference here are the cabs I like with the RH450:
Bergantino's: HS410, AE410, AE112, HT112ER/EX112ER
Aguilar: DB410, DB112
Ampeg: 8x10

First, I will be gigging the head and my HS410 for the first time on Saturday in a big banquet room. Can't wait. In my house where I tested and a/b'd my RH450 and DB750 I was happily surprised to see the TC get so darn close to the Aggie. As you accurately mentioned, it's in the "territory" and fairly close to main street. As The Butler basically said, the DB750 has more headroom but the RH450 has that tight deep bass punch feel that I love about the DB750 and it seemed to have quite a bit more headroom to go because everything in my kitchen was vibrating i.e. cabinet doors and shelf items. Crazy.
I brought my RH450 over to my Pal Big Red Six's place this past weekend and He and other pal Randy both were fairly impressed. Randy is an amp/luthier guru guy and is a bit skeptical about all digital amps and is waiting for my report from the first gig. I think it will be favorable

Did you try the RH with a single cab like the HT or AE ?
Some of the micro amps don't fair so well with a single 8ohm load and one driver. I'm pretty sure it would be tough to do a 'normal' gig with just a 112 or a 2x10 for that matter.

I did demo it with a single AE112, HT112ER, Glock 1x12, DB112& Genz 1x12. It was actually very loud. It still sounded equally as loud as the Shuttle 6.0 into a 112 cab. Which is what I was comparing it to. My least favorite was actually the Glock cab. The AE112 stack or AE410 would be great for someone wanting a little more aggressive sound. I just prefered the smoother sound of the HT/EX stack. I would still use the both cabs on gigs. Like you said, a single 1x12 or 2x10
would only work for me on a jazz type gig. (which I don't have one of those gigs). Let me know how the RH450 does with your HS410 on your gig.

I just got my RH 450 last night, and plugged it into ONE of my Aguilar GS 112's and let me tell you, it is LOUD! I also was worried about it's volume into one 8 ohm cab, but it seemed to me to have the same response as my iAmp800 did. I don't think I could stand to have the RH450's master volume past 11 or 12 oclock.
This was at my house though. I have yet to try it at a gig.
Overall, I am very impressed. LOVE the tubetone. I love the sound of having the tubetone at 9 oclock. Give's just a hint of subtle grit to the high notes. If you crank the tube tone to the max, it sounds like Rage Against the Machine!
Sofar, I am really happy with the RH 450, but I will save a further review until I have a chance to play it out, and until my RS 210's arrive.
Of course the proof is in the pudding, or should I say, in the gig. What I can say is that at this moment, it has a warmer, and more inviting tone with everything set flat, than the iAmp800 did. That amp was pristine, but a little cold and clinical.
Also, to my surprise, my Sadowsky seems to sound better in passive mode with the Rh 450. I never like the tone of the passive mode with my IAMP.
The tone is deep, and full, and clear with pristine highs, but not so much glass-breaking highs, which I don't care for. Also, the mid-range seems nice and open with a certain warmth to it. On so many basses and amps the midrange seems pinched and cold (my old Hartke for example)
I really like the tweakability of this amp, which was also a great feature of the iAmp800. After owning the EA, I probably wouldn't have been happy with an amp that didn't have a semi adjustable Q.
I agree. It seems to love passive basses. With my Lakland 55/44-02's, it sounded better in passive than active. Not that Active was bad, but I got more mileage adjusting the EQ and Tubetone on the RH450 while the basses were in passive. For passive jazz basses, the RH450 just kills.

I have 2 amps, the heavy and amazing Orange AD200b Mk3, and the MB LM3. But, Im like you, I want more because buying gear is fun!
I bought a Shuttle 9.0, wanting more at 8 ohms, and thinking the hifi sound would work for me.
It is loud but the tone isnt for me. I find it too clinical. The amp itself doesnt sit flat....on any surface. I will say Genz customer service was very quick and will provide another, but I think Im going to try something else.
The Shuttle is going back for a return this week, and im probably requesting an exchange for a TC Elec RH450. Ive heard one briefly before, and Ive had a play around, and it is complete genius. Totally different to my Orange/Markbass, yet in the same ballpark with a more chewy and warm tone, yet can do quick and clean really well. It comes in a package with the excellent pedal and gig bag, and basically Ive heard their 450 is very very true, and basically sounds more like 700-800 watts of normal lightweight heads. It will cost me more, but not that much more.
Im just worried the 450 watts is going to be enough .but lets face it, more than 500watt and the PA can pick it up. Is the 450w in this amp a good strong wattage?
Whats your views on RH450 everyone? Ive read all 40 ish pages and I think it might be the right amp for me.

I am now gassing for a Passive 4 string Jazz!
Also, per your advice, I am going to order the 210's and not the 212/210 stack. I was playing on this ridiculously small stage on Sunday and was so crammed, my speakers were practically against the wall, and I realized the 212 may be too deep, or require more room due to it's porting.
I'll let you know what I think of the 210's once they arrive. Thanks for your input on this!!!

Of course the "right" amp for you is very subjective. I have never wanted to buy any of the micro amps until I learned about the RH 450. Most of them are super hi-fi, super clinical and pristine sounding. I need something with some balls!
I can recommend that you seriously consider the RH, as it has a warmer, grindier tone than any Genz Benz. If you are a rocker and used to tube amps, I think you will like the RH (only weighs about 50lbs less than your orange!, love the Orange BTW)
