TC Electronic RH750 ???!??

Another happy owner! I just tested it in the music store. I tried 2 weeks ago the RH450 because they didn't have any stock of the 750. Yesterday I tried a bit the 750 before paying for it.

I'd summarize 1 more 2-function rotary control with memory and graphic information (in normal mode it is the compression actually applied), it is used for compressor and "tweetertone".

I will possibly run freq. response on this tweetertone control to solve the conundrum of what the hell the control is doing to high freqs (shelf or wideband or narrowband boost/cut or any kind of HF cut with a control on frequency or what). Some day. I´d say "it provides a lot of flexibility in high frequencies" but didn't have the opportunity to try to guess how (I was testing a new amp with new speakers, not my bass,...).

I could clearly notice some noise from the fan. In the store I was unable to hear anything from the RH450. Yes, they are different in this aspect, but it is not bad enough for me not to go with the 750. And I plan to use the amp at home (my main reason to go the micro-light way).

I didn't A/B tested both at the same time (except for fan noise), but yesterday I got the impression that the "tubetone" is more usable in the 750. I could turn it up half way and didn't have the impression that it was too much, while I thought the other way for the 450, but I maybe wrong and I could have been judging differently due to different speakers used in the test. Or my taste for overdrive at the moment.

The 750 is also supposed to be louder, again this is something I could not realistically try in the store where I got it. Both seemed very loud but I didn't try to push the 2 different relatively limited speakers connected to both amps and on different days.

I'm willing to begin using it at home, at least with headphones or at low power using the 4x10 speakers in my combo (can be detached from head)!!!!

My ultimate plan is to pair it with 2 DIY good 1x15 cabs. Tomorrow I'll start building the first one (think of a Barefaced Compact, slightly larger and not so advanced in weight reduction).

You will not regret it! I'm enjoying my RH750, I actually got my RC4 today (Pedal Remote Control for the amp) I'm also thinking about what cab I'm going to buy, I'm currently using both my friend RS210 but I am not completely sold on the TC cabs.

I'm thinking SWR golight 4x10??

After going round and round for months, I just ordered an RH750. Now I'm wondering what cabs to use with it. The RS210 (46lbs), BC210 (42lbs) or an SWR Golight 2x10 (38lbs).

I have the Golight 2x10 and Golight 4x10 already. I made my yearly pilgrimage to Bass Emporium and played/bought a TC Electronic BC210 cab today. I also played the TC BC212 and a Bergatino AE210 all using a BH500. I preferred the BC210 to all of them. They didn't have a RS210 in stock unfortunately. I'm hoping the BH500 sounds like the RH750. If so it should be a good match.

Vertical is definitely the way to go.

Hey Washishimi, where did you get that hanger from?
Did you make it?
Cheers, Pete

I'm thinking about getting a RH750 too, but have a question regarding the RC4 pedal remote:

I would like to put the RC on my pedalboard, but on most stages I play this will be about 6 meters (18 feet?) away from the amp, sometimes more. So:
- how long is the connecting wire of the RC4?
- do appropriate extention wires exist? I couldn't find any yet...

It's like a standard MIDI cable, terminated in two 5-pin DIN connectors. I think it is 5m (I am not 100% sure), but any shielded cable terminated with 5-pin IN connectors connecting each pin with the same pin # in the other side should work.

In other pedals I've seen / have they have just ONE connector, the other end of the cable cannot be detached from the pedal.

It`s 18.75 ft long so you shouldn`t have any problem.

Thanks guys! So I understand the cable is detacheable from the pedal? That's a good idea, because the connection point of non-detacheable cables is always a weak point...
... and it's handier for pedalboard use!

Yes. ANd it's well done: the lower part of the pedalboard is shorter than the upper "lid", so the DIN male connector is covered by the "lid": very difficult to put your foot on the DIN connector.

This is a nice implementation.

Right now I have a TC BC210, SWR Golight 2x10 and SWR Golight 4x10. I am planning on selling the 4x10 and using a pair of vertical 2x10s with it hopefully. If the TC/SWR combination sounds good, I will stick with that. If not I might look into another BC210 or possibly going for the RS210s.

OK I bought it, tried it, sound wise mehh. It is a louder RH450 as stated clearly here. What I personally hoped the TweeterTone would do was just a wish. Nothing more nothing less. But the tuner and compressor on the other hand are just the simplest, most convenient and musical I've used. Arguably the king of one trip load ins.
