TC Electronic RH750 ???!??

I usually stack them one-on-the-other (kinda like a line-array). That configuration gets the second cabinet up to ear level, which improves definition. But the stage for Saturday's gig had a little "give", so I played it safe and put them side-by-side.

Probably the best move.

If you had a way to put a couple of pieces of thin foam (or other material) between the cabs, you could stack them vertically on their sides and get that top tweeter up a bit higher than side-by-side.
I wouldn't want to put them on their sides without either rubber feet or some other material to protect them.
As far as just a source for stage monitoring, I think we over-blow the line-array thing, but I do like having the cab(s) up close to ear-level.

I like the punch of good 10" drivers and I like the idea of vertical arrays, but some of the newer 2x10 cabs are so shallow front-to-back that it would give me pause in a lot of venues to have that tall of a stack.

I have four Epifani UL-110's that I've bought over the years. They're my favorite--and only---Epfani cabs. I keep thinking about stacking all of them vertically for a gig. I haven't done this yet, but there's a hotel with a very tight stage that we play once in a while. I think I'll try that next time we're there.

Hi guys!

After reading aaaallllllll the thread I couldn't solve my questions. Let's see if anyone can :D

I like a lot the idea of tone possibilities of the TC amps, but I'd like to get some quite different sounds. I could say I'm in love with TC bass stuff... but I don't know why :/

Firstly, I like Jazz sounds/tone, as I have seen you can get a good tone with the amp and the cabinets, so I don't bother much on getting the tone I like from it.

And secondly... heavy metal sounds, with deep lows, quite envolving, obscure... and sometimes with some high sounds like when strings touch the fretboard or like the 5th string was a big tube/pipe. I can say I like a bunch of music, but usually I like sounds like Korn, As Blood Runs Black, Emmure and so on, apart from the beforementioned Jazz. As a guy told earlier for this purpose perhaps the RS212 would be fine.

What would you say? Would I be able to play music from Jazz to Metal/Deathcore/Metalcore with this setup? Or would you recommend me other setups?

Thanks in advance :)

PD: sorry I can't talk with good adjectives like crisp, warm, rattling, and so on, I'm not native english and at the moment I can't get an idea of what you mean :p

Hi Mixu,

I don't own any of the TC Electronic cabinets, so I can't speak to the combination. Regarding the heads though, I think these may be the most flexible amps I've ever used. I think the TubeTone and the adjustable tone control centers will help you shape your sound for almost any type of music. And the amp is really loud and powerful, which should help in the metal department. I can't think of a more versatile amp on the market -- it should be a great choice for your needs.

Good luck,
Greg

Hey Guys, besides TC and Bergantino cabs what other brands of cabs will the RH750 match up well with?

I've been playing it thru a Mesa powerhouse 8x10. Monster yeah...it's really rich in the midrange.
But I'd really like to try it through a (newer) 2x15 to see how complex the lows can be.

I have to agree with this, so +1

Thanks guys!

I've got a little doubt. My dealer told me that the RS212 would not have the high tone as the one of the RS210. Any one could tell me if it's much difference?
He has told me in order to get high power, bunch of lows and clear high's I could use a RS212 plus a RS410.
He also told me about the BC brand of cabinets, any one has tested them?

Thanks again :p

Does anyone have experience with the BG500/BH500 and the RH750? I recently picked up a BG500 2x10 combo on the cheap and I am really digging the sound. As I understand, its a completely different amp internally than the RH series but shares some of the same front end controls like Tweetertone.

I read in another thread that the RH450 did not sound like the BG500/BH500, but I am wondering with the addition of the Tweetertone control, is the RH750 capable of getting the same base tones as the B series amps?

I suspect the main difference would be the mids and the lower lows.

First post, so thought I'd give it a try. I've just upgraded from RH450 to RH750 and it's worked wonders. My basses seem to have such a massive input gain, I can not drop the input down a click or two most, and get a whole lot better output. Before you say it, I don't like an overdriven sound, which is close to what I was getting from my previous set up. I also find on this new set up, I hardly EQ at all, and just let the bass do the work. That's all. Nothing specific, just thought I'd share it on here as a test for my new account!.

welcome to TB funk! Question for you, do you mean to say with the 750, you have been able to get a cleaner tone? I notice that I get something like overdrive when I crank the RH450 on a gig, and I have no gain lights flashing, and the tube tone is turned off. Can you elaborate a little more on your experience with the 450 and the 750? Cheers!
