That's pretty much zero latency to the player. That's very good!

I think the price for head and cabs could be reasonable, but the footswitch is really expensive (yes I realise it has a tuner display).

**UPDATE** 1/22/09 -- TC Electronic has announced they'll be renaming the RebelHead450 to RH450, RebelStack cabinets to RS210/212 (depending on speaker size selection) and the RebelControl to the RC4 (remote). **UPDATE**

I guess the Good Old Boy name ruined it?

It's definitely an unfortunate name. Since the word has come to stand for southern racism in the US, I think it's a good idea to change it. It's doubtful that many black bassists in the US will be comfortable with a head called the RebelHead.

Maybe... but I seriously doubt that. I know it didn't bother me in the least. Neither did the Andre Agassi Canon commercials.

I think it's PC gone way out of hand personally, but if I were marketing an item in a foreign country and found out the name had the potential to offend a certain large sector of buyers, I'd change it, too. There's no reason to even go there. Not like it's art or entertainment. But the fact that you're not offended by the word "rebel" is cool. That just proves you have bigger fish to fry in your life to waste time on silliness.

Can someone explain the racist meaning of this name? I googled Rebelhead and rebel and couldn't find anything about it. I grew up in the deep south (New Orleans) and although I think I have heard the confederate flag being called the rebel flag, that seems like a tenuous connection. Just the word "rebel" does not set off my "crazy racist guy" alarm. The Egnater thing seems more likely to me, but maybe this is a result of being born in a less racially tense time.

"rebels" = US Confederacy in Civil War days. Personally, I think it's a bit of a stretch to call it an offensive word, but just like the swastika wasn't considered offensive to people until Hitler used it, it sort of developed into a word with racist connotations by its Confederate associations.
