TC Electronics RebelHead 450 - Rebel with a Cause

I guess you should take it easy and get over it (but you'd probably would do it, if you could, right? :))

Yes , gotten over and filed in the 'lost interest' section. If they had advertised it as a free lottery , even with solicitation of CVs for market research, this would have been a win win situation... as it was run...it was an unnecessary rejection, something no one needs to be told.

Big marketing faux pas. Not the thing to do if you want to launch a new product, especially if you are a new player in a particular MI sector where your credentials from another MI sector means or counts for little more than being good at making other products.

Sorry guys, but I don't quite get it... so you're feeling insulted every time you don't get the job you've been interviewed/applying for; the girl, you really cared for, has chosen other one... or, if you take it ad-absurdum, you do not win in lottery, because given the amount of people applied (at least I suppose there was quite a lot of them), the odds to get it for review weren't that much higher.
If so, you should also feel insulted, that other companies did not even ask you to send them your resume and start a trial program... let's rant for example Markbass of Genz-Benz they wouldn't let us try they new lines before they hit the production and don't ask us for our opinion :). Yeah, let's have a fun.

Absolute nonsense. Yes, I do feel insulted every time I don't get the job. Yes, I do feel insulted when the girl I love chooses someone else. Who doesn't? But I don't get insulted when I lose the lottery. That's dumb luck, and it hardly applies to this situation. We were rejected, pure and simple. So I refuse to even entertain your thoughts as being anything more than an attempt to mix it up on an internet forum.

Not to be self-deprecating, but there's no way I was chosen based on how impressive my playing is. There had to be some other criteria they were looking for because there are far better players out there that I'm sure applied.

See my sig?

I wouldn't have thought twice if I wasn't picked and frankly, I'm surprised I was except that maybe there were looking for the kind of player who normally wouldn't use their gear......

Don't sell yourself so short, dude...you've got good songs on Myspace and your band works. I can see why they went with you.

Again, I don't want to bum people out who actually get an amp. I'm sure you deserved it. The rest of us are rejects and don't deserve even a second of TC's consideration. And I'm more than happy to return the favor.

OK, if that's the case, I understand you're upset and insulted. I really don't get insulted every time I don't get, what I want. I don't get insulted, when you say/write I am posting nonsenses (noticed 'ad-absurdum' before lottery analogy?). You may be right, maybe I am too cool and hip, or even stupid to get mad for such a (to me stupid) reason, or maybe I am drinking too much beer or magnesium enriched water :) ... OK, that's interesting. How many of you 'rejected' guys, got really upset?

Just because I don't list them in my profile doesn't mean they don't exist. No Myspace but plenty of Youtube. Regardless, my musical history speaks for itself and I shouldn't need to collect Myspace friends in order to qualify. If that's what it was all about, they should have said in the rules, "Winners will be determined by the amount of Myspace friends they have."

Or maybe you're just too hip and cool to realize you've been insulted. Assuming you entered, that is.

not too cool, not too hip and definitely NOT insulted. how on earth was I insulted by TC Electronic not picking me?? yes I entered, yes I have a MySpace, yes I have some 'artsy' YouTube vids, and I've even played on a few award winning CDs and international tours......

I just don't see why you're getting your nose so out of joint over this and bad mouthing and belittling TC Electronic in the process. That is starting to aggravate me, the fact that you are throwing a little hissy fit over this AND then essentially calling them morons and peons for not selecting you.

I do hope 'they' are watching this thread and are happy and justified in their omission after seeing these rants.

now, is this thread going to get back on track talking about the RH450 or is it going to continue to be a pity party?

Dude, I'll be honest with you...I really don't care what you or anyone thinks, least of all the brass at TC. It was a crappy way to run a contest. So save your snide comments for someone who appreciates them.

However, I've said my piece, and I won't talk about this stupid contest anymore until I see one of these rigs in my local store, at which time you will see my incredibly honest review of it.

Nice one! And here I was thinking it was just me...

:D

They probably found the sex tape....that's why YOU didn't get picked, PP!

:ninja: :D :hiding: :hyper:  :) ;)

And I gotta get the PJ Bass Buddy back to you somehow, bass buddy.

Cheers,
Cameron

this is worse than watching the rejects on 'American Idol...'

Get a grip, you guys...you expect the music business to be fair? Good luck with that. If the music business went on skill, knowledge, experience and ability, I'd should be driving a Lotus Exige right now...to my home outside of Nice somewhere, where my butler was waxing my Bentley. Unfortunately, it doesn't. Cute wankers is all they want - it's marketing, baby. Somebody who looks good in an ad so they can market the thing to 25 year olds, who looks and plays like they do. It's their company, they can do what they want with it. And they probably had 25 trillion applicants, so at some point it MAY have come down to a lottery type situation, who knows...we certainly don't. But don't count your chickens, etc.

And certainly don't whine like this for pages in a public forum; you really look childish and ignorant. It has nothing to do with music - it wasn't a musical technique contest (or I would have whooped all of you!).

:rollno:

Cheer up you guys...sheesh...you win some, you lose some...

This might be the first time I have ever agreed with Cameron wholeheartedly.

What can I tell you? To say I don't take rejection well is a tremendous understatement. I used to go and heckle bands that turned me down because I didn't have enough hair. I once turned a girl who broke up with me but played headgames with me afterward to get money into to the IRS. I once turned in a crappy bar I played at for health code violations and cost them $2000 because the idiot in charge fired me because of a skin condition. I can be quite unlikable when people play me, and I will get you back, trust me.

Under normal day to day rejection, such as this, I don't go to those extremes. I go on about it for a couple hours and I get over it. But I don't take it well, and I don't forget about it, and I make no apologies to anyone. It's what you call a "character flaw." One I'm not the least bit interested in changing. So if that makes me the biggest a-hole on TB, so be it. I can tell you right now that it doesn't ;)

EDIT: The free footswitch with purchase of a head coupon really was an insult, though. Rejecting us and trying to sell us at the same time is never a good idea.

I've been quietly observing since TCE announced this gear, and I'm VERY interested in the RS210. I've been looking to make a move on a 210 in that price range and Bass Emporiom should have some in stock soon, so I'll definitely be there to check them out once they arrive.

Same here. Very interested in how the 210 and 212 sound stacked.
