And according to the manual it is also rackable, that is also quite important for some.

What I really want to see is the rumoured following products for bass, I always liked tc gear, even to the point of considering purchasing the G-system despite being designed for guitar.

$1K? that ends it for me. Almost double the price of a Shuttle? Cool looks only go so far for me. I'd love to have the tuner built in, but the rest doesn't do much for me.

If I was a wealthy man, the head and a 2x12 in a rack case would be cool.

I'll be curious to see if anyone is talking about this thing in a year from now.

The programmable stuff is interesting, but so far it hasn't caught on with any of the previous attempts. You pass a lot of great amps on the way to $999, so the TC Electronic will need to sound great to pick up a real following.

Let's see, 400 watt class D micro head $500-600
good compressor $150-300
tuner $75-90
total $725-990
How much would you pay for the convenient packaging, programmable EQ ($75?), tube tone($200-300?) etc. It could be well worth it if all the whistles and bells suit you but if you've got a compressor or overdrive you prefer or you don't need a fancy EQ?

The multi-band (3) compression, tube modeling, isolated DI, and digital outs are kinda cool, as well. I'm sure a lot of folks wouldn't use all of those features, but they did a good job of making it fairly plug and play for those who don't want to tweak too much, while still giving a lot of ability to tweak to those inclined to do so.

It certainly seems like a very promising product, but like all new gear, the proof will be how it sounds and holds up under gigging situations. I did talk to Steve Bailey about the Rebel rig, though, and he seemed honestly pleased with its performance.

That's all logical, but pure-feature comparisons are of little value to me. As much as I like small, integrated amps, the service I've gotten first-hand from the owners, no less, of both Genz Benz and GK changed my outlook on who gets my money. I absolutely love the features of that amp. But I've gotten wiser with my dough - I need reliability and good customer support a year or more down the line.

I hope the TC stuff takes off a bit. I think it might make other companies step it up a bit. It is in my opinion, one of the coolest designed products (the whole line, not just the head).

I'm with you on that. I've already got a compressor and overdrive etc. I'm pretty happy with my rig and the reputation AI has for customer service etc. That 2x12 looks pretty sweet though.

I signed up.

Love my tone, but my back needs a break (cabs especially). So I'm in the market for a second rig that I can use on days that I don't have help humping the gear. And if the tone is there, it will become the main rig.

It's definitely digital/DSP. Guessing that the loop is right after the D/A and just before the power amp.

The tube emulation is what I'm interested in. I'm old school in my tone, and they claim that they've got that down. If they do, they have a sale.

TC DSP is good - I use one of their cards in my DAW and their better algorithms are pretty sweet.

I just had to sign up, too. I love that TC is firmly on the vertical stacking bandwagon. It's almost as if their designers have been hanging out here...two 210's stacked on top of each other? Where did they get that idea??? ;)

As for the head, sounds like a good idea but I'd like to see it in practice.

I've become a big fan of those small 'over and under' 212 cabs recently (like the TecAmp S212 and the TC 212). Not much bigger than a typical 210, and more booty down low. Also, the 'big driver in a small box' type thing results in a very tight low end and lots of punch, making the 212 a kind of 'super 210'. I like the fact that it's about the same height as my 410's, making it great for stage monitoring, and the small footprint, as TC describes in their marketing materials, makes the 'vertical 212' one of the biggest 'bang for footprint' out there.

The head doesn't do much for me (I'm again not a big 'bells and whistles guy', and that power spec is a bit low), but the cabs look pretty cool!

Yes, the cabs deserve some hype, too. TC owns Tannoy, and the Tannoy folks were definitely involved. It's hard to tell just how something sounds from playing it at NAMM (sooooo much background noise), but I can say that off-axis dispersion seemed to be above average.
