TC just got bought....

No good can come of this. I don't really see behringer gear possibly getting slightly less mediocre as a benefit. Why should they succeed and carry on when great companies like SWR and Genz (and functionally more or less Trace) go the way of the dodo?

If people voted with their wallets and bought stuff that was designed and made well in countries without extremely exploitative labor policies, maybe our available (new) choices would be better and not 99% made in China by grubby underfed 10 year olds.

TCE made quality stuff for a long time. The power rating stuff severely damaged their integrity, and with this acquisition, I would definitely think twice about buying anything from them that comes out in the future.

I guess I also don't understand why they needed to be sold? The last 5-10 years their gear has just been more and more popular all the time. I have a Nova system, and while it's not really suited for bass and has some other quirks besides, it's generally great for guitar and one of the top 2 or 3 all in ones out there, especially in terms of sound quality.

Because that popularity and success the last couple of years have put TC in a good position and the company management and owners felt this was a good time to cash in?

Oh, I don't know I like some Chevy's :)
And I looking forward to what MG comes out with now that TC is part of the mix
Seriously cool stuff gear and software TC and I'm positive the Music Group will have a positive influence on them.
Like I said, pronto should be the three year warranty. I never got TC's 1 year warranty. And it kept me away from their gear.

BTW, The Music Group has their own operating system. It's what the use in their hi-end mixer products. Pulling in TC could really make some strong embedded products. I'm looking forward to it.

Well, I'm more of a Ford guy.... Much rather drive an F series than a Silverado any day of the week...

Having said that, I rented a '15 Tahoe LTZ when my F150 was in the body shop because some imbecile couldn't see a lifted 4x4 on the road, anyway, that Tahoe was pretty awesome. Comfy interior, and a LOT of fun to drive...

Don't really like the Camaro, and there isn't an American small car I can stand since GM did away with the Saturn brand... But I digress...

Back on topic...

I am actually somewhat looking forward to the products that result from the synergy between Behringer and the rest of the brands they have absorbed over the years...

From what I can tell, their quality / design has been improving over the years, and with brands like TC, Klark Teknik (sp) it looks like they are trying to aim for multiple market segments with a more solid range of offerings. This is a good thing for consumers at all price points.

I guess since nobody knows (or cares) who the principals are at TCE, leaving a legacy isn't a big deal. Personally, I'd rather ride the wave of success, and do my best to keep increasing it, and both leave a business for my kids to take over and the legacy of a company loved by the community (or try to).

But hey, that's just me.

I think it's probably because most people don't like being lied to in order to get them to part with their money. Call me crazy...

That said, I own one of their tuners now and it's darn nice ;) And I nearly bought a Spark Mini pedal that was also really nice but suffered from a tiny midscoop, so I ended up getting something else.

People arent being lied to. Its the dummies who dont read the manual, warranty, EULAs, etc. its kinda like the class action lawsuit against straight talk wireless. (Which I didnt participate in because I have a fully functional brain and I know how to read.) Google it. A bunch of idiots failed to read the eula, which states clearly, that once you exceed 2 gigs they slow your data down. People are trying to say that the "unlimited" plans are false advertising or some such idiocy.

No, TC did lie to people. It was only after pressure was applied here (directly with the TC execs) that they went back and edited some of their documents to include the information.

Well crap. I like my BG250 amp, but I've been itching to replace it with a Gallien Krueger combo. Guess I have an excuse now.

Love their pedals though, nothing out there does what they do. Very sad. Better stock up on a supply of pre-Behringer backups!

So one company that will never get mymoney acquired another company that will never get mymoney, with the end result that they still won't get mymoney.
Almost sounds as bad as the telecommunications sector.
"All your watts are ours!"

I was not aware of this. Thats a filthy move right there. I will never buy from TC now because of this. Dont care that they "fixed" the issue thats just plain old false advertising.

Somewhere in the depths of my harddrive I have the original manual PDFs and caps of their site as well as later updates where they put out the new information in a non-intrusive back door kind of way.

They lied. They intentionally, creatively, persistently mislead and then confabulated and denied after they were exposed. They did some innovative things technologically and I like the BH heads for what they can be had for (pretty cheap), but I will never buy a new TC product.

IIRC it's the RH heads that were the 'problematic' ones. I actually like my Polytune quite a bit and am probably going to end up with some of their vocal pedals in the near future.

We know to what extent the RH power ratings were embellished, but the AFAIK, the true BH power outputs have not been objectively tested and reported. I have a BH800 acquired used in trade.....that sounds mightily compressed to me when pushed, even without adding compression........are you aware of any bench tests on it or the BH550?

I'm not, but after the whole original round of things I've pretty well discounted the situation.

Tomg. In reference to your coment: "Got any Mircosoft products? Better give those away.

There things I love and hate about both Microsoft and Apple. In fact the only reason I even have an IPhone and an I Pad is they were given to me. Haha I generally don't go throwing the baby out with the bath water. I play both Jazz, P's. Sorry for the derail. To bring it back OT there are things I don't like about both TC and Bco. So I don't own any of either.

Oh sorry about the Bco. Thing .....Chevy, Chevy ,Chevy, Beemer, Beemer Beemer.
Neener, neener , neener
