Yeah that's right! I loves me some TC pedals, so I picked up a MojoMojo Overdrive to see if it would replace my favorite OD of all time (so far)...the Hardwire Tube Overdrive.

Did it do that? Oh heck no. Not even close. Hardwire wins yet again, I'll probably stop looking. I was all set to send the MojoMojo back as I just didn't care for anything it did....but then it hit me...I'm listening for a tube-ish OD pedal and it ain't that. But man listen to it FIZZ! It's quite the stellar Fuzz pedal, and it may replace my Muff even though I wasn't trying to.

Have a listen. As always, excuse the bass player, for he tries his best :)

This is done with my Spector NS-5.

Hardwire just for fun:

TC Dark Matter which I use for just a hint of grit.
I love this pedal. Very transparent, perfect for what I do with it:

Wheee! MXR Envelope filter! Must be bored tonight.

Thanks for posting all those! Sound great man. I always wondered about the TC pedals. The Dark Matter has always sparked my interest. You know Im a fan of the CM2 as well and it seems like me and you along with a few others always sing its praises. And for good reasons IMO. Its an awesome affordable bass OD. Really cool little demos though, thanks again. Im quite happy with my OD and fuzz at the moment but I am going to keep my eyes open for good deals on the DM and mojo.

R u still digging your MojoMojo? I am gas'n for either a DarkMatter or MojoMojo to add to the stable and really luv an affordable choice.

Well now that they are both $50...buy them both! But yes I still love the MojoMojo and I've discovered that its a true gem when used as a low gain overdrive. It's very much like a Blueberry at low gain (but not at higher gains where the Blueberry holds it together better). The tone controls make it very versatile and it does not lose any bottom end. MojoMojo is a no brainer at $50.

I bought the Dark Matter and it has way too much low end loss. I think I will try the Mojomojo too. Did you record those original clips with any kind of blended clean signal? I seem to be able to hear your completely unaltered tone underneath the OD's. I could be wrong....

No blend at all, just the pedals! I've also discovered that the MojoMojo is a nice low gain OD as well, but it never completely cleans up. It just keeps some dirt all the time.

Thanks for the tip and sound clips, i just got me a mojomojo. Great sounding od/distortion!
I a/b it against a bunch of good ones at the store.
Competitors where...
Mxr bass overdrive
Mxr bass distortion
Mxr fet drive
Mxr 78'distortion
Lol lots of mxr there.
I sort of liked the bass od, but it being a little of a one trick pony and a little polite.
Fet had to much of a "broken"sound to it but still cool.
Bass dist I didn't like at all, i think i just don't like Rat-based pedals.
'78 sounded really great, can recommend that one.
But the mojo had such a fat and aggressive tone, it was a no brainer for the price!

I just ordered one for just 45€. I already have a CM-2 and was looking for something rougher (a step up gain wise), more fuzzy tone wise. I also considered a EHX Nano Bass Muff and a Mooer Thunderball. Then I came across the positive reviews the MojoMojo is getting here. Would you say I got what I'm looking for?

Right now, i have a rat in a blended loop through the boss ls-2 and also the mojo on my board(without any blending. I love both but could really just use the mojo if i had to choose. It can do both low and higher gain and cut through. It's not really transparent but that's not what i'm after anyway. I'd say it has lots of push in the lo-mid region and rounded off in the treble.
