TC Polytune - Best tuner for Bass?

I've used a Polytune since they were first released. Last spring I moved to a Polytune 2 mini.
...I recently made the switch to the Peterson StrobostompHD and have been really pleased with the change. Feels faster, definitely easier to read and brighter, has more modes and options.

Tried a bunch of stuff — Boss, Peterson etc — owned many including Korg Pitchblack... Wanted to get a Polytune but got the Turbo and it has prevented me from ever getting a Polytune. Would still love to try a Polytune, but probably will get another Turbo should the need arise.

I use clip-on tuners, and have used many different kinds. My favorites are by Korg (Pitchhawk, Sledgehammer), and I also recommend the TC Unitune clip (cheaper than the Polytune clip, not sure why I'd want the poly feature).
Korg and TC handle low B (and Bb, I often downtune) very well. That said: if a tuner doesn't handle open low B, the solution is to play 12th fret harmonic.

The polytune clip is stable to open low A. As is the Korg pitch black, pro and clip variants.
Just checked my TC Unitune clip, and it's also stable to low A.
I have a Snark, 2 for $30 that works well althuogh the low B
picks up better with a harmonic.

Just ordered my Peterson Strobostomp Hd pedal to replace my polytune3 I just sold. I'll report back when I get it in hand but just based on the demos I've seen I already know it's gonna be perfect for me.
I have the Unitune and when I tune the E string the tuner says it's the B string. Always. It gets the job done, but it annoys me a lot
Rohi is right though. They are far and away the best tuners I have ever used: the most accurate ( by far ), and super durable, super visible ( in any conditions ), and super flexible. Just my 2 cents.

Well, you can tune a piano, but you can't. . . . Oh, you know the rest! Cheers. Subliminal message: ST -300 is in your future ( mystical music playing in the background ).
Let's all conspire to convince JimmyM that he absolutely NEEDS a Sonic Research ST-300 tuner.
Nah, they're just incredible tuners, and I do a fair amount of recording, and like to be precise. Also, great for intonation purposes. But I usually go overboard, so, there's that. . . Cheers. By the way you recommended the Ampeg PF 20t as a DI replacement. It's all I use now when I record. . . PERFECTLY in tune. Lol.
Those PF amps are definitely sweet for recording, and being in tune does help a lot
No disrespect to the ST-300, but the new Peterson display is what a tuner should be.
