TC Polytune - Best tuner for Bass?

I just received my Unitune today. Attached it to the headstock, and it worked flawlessly, recognised the B, no problem. I was going to put a Polytune on my Nano+, but I think I may just stick with the Unitune and save the pedalboard space.

My problem is that the Unitune says that my E string is my B string. If it worked perfectly, I'd do the same as you and take the tuner out of my board since I lately mute my bass with its volume control

Strange, does it do that on all your basses, (you must have a few, legal requirement of Talkbass:)). I'll try it on my other basses. I would suspect that your Unitune isn't working correctly, or there's something going on with your bass.

I've been using a Polytune for a few years. I like it, but I won't rely on it for gigs after having issues with it tracking my bass on loud stages.

As a minimalist I'd prefer to forgo the floor tuner and plug straight into the amp, but the floor tuner is more reliable.

This is why I'm loving the StrobostompHD...Bright and big on a pretty busy board. But not flashy and distracting like I found the Polytune2 Mini in strobe mode use.

I've done many of the Polytunes as pedals, and they're generally great. I've tried many headstock tuners, with the Polytune being the best there as well (right alongside the Peterson HD headstock tuner if you want strobe).

However, several have already said it - the new StroboStomp HD pedal really slays them all. The display tops off the feature set. I've even compared it to the Sonic Research, which is great also, but the HD display is just definitively the best for me.

I have a Snark pedal tuner on the floor which is awesome (cheap and sturdy), but I misplaced my Snark headstock tuner the other day. I use a headstock tuner for my acoustic and occasionally my basses if I'm not plugged into my pedal board. So I bought a TC Electronic Unitune from Sweetwater (TC Electronic UniTune Clip Clip-on Chromatic Tuner) and am really impressed by the size, sturdiness, form factor and display. It clips on securely with a metal clip and lies flat when you don't want to see it. And at $29 at the moment, it's a deal. I found my Snark clip-on later (of course) and it looks like an awkward baby giraffe or space alien by comparison.
