does anyone know how to go about getting a puma 500 fixed?
mine's crapped out,and emails to the company have gone nowhere....
thanks
Bummer. Your retailer will take care of you. The company is very responsive to the retail channel in the US (I assume that is where you are?). I had a problem with an s212, and I received a new one from Glen at Austin Bass Traders immediately.
i bought it used from someone online here...
i cant remember the username, but it was a moderator....
The US distributor is Osiamo... good guys.
Here is the owner's email

And here is the website. I'm pretty sure they will get you taken care of... good guys. If all else fails, call Glen Kawamoto at Austin Bass Traders (GREAT guy), and he will shake TecAmps tree for you and get you a response.

Ha... not in this lifetime I'm afraid
It seems to push just as hard as the 4 ohm 2x12 berg IP stack that I traded up for this combo, and I'm now left with nothing to be desired! I have had cabs in 8 and 4 ohm configurations and noticed significant differences... but this combo sounds just like any other 4 ohm 212 to me. BIG, LOUD, powerful... and has deeper more controlled low end than my berg ever did (but I guess that's why the ER's come rolling out) It sounds great when it starts to break up a little bit, and gets the job done like a champ every time. At any rate, I've yet to come across a gig that this combo didn't do the job very well... and just to put things in perspective, I play mostly at parties, small clubs and the occasional wedding with 150+ people. here is a link to a german shop, they have killer deals on puma 1000 & 350, maybe some of you are interessted.
not shure if they ship worldwide; but it's 100% a serious shop.

You can count me in too! I've got a sweet little 212 combo
This combo pairs up so beautifully with the BN's tone... I have NEVER been GAS FREE for this long... ever. Well that's not entirely true... the only thing I'm gasn' for at this point, is more Tecamp gear!Let's see, howz about a Bonafide and a pair of 4ohm S212's

Seriously, there's some magic going on in this puma 500/S212 (8ohm) combo that really does it for me. It's got a very soft, articulate and organic quality that sounds equally great dialed up with both vintage and modern tones. The top end is very natural and a bit rolled off in the 'sizzle' region, which is a good thing for my tone goals. It can still be very aggressive and modern if necessary, it's just a little bit more 'polite' which again, is a good thing IMO.
Also worth mentioning, is the 8ohm configuration which has really turned a lot of people away from this combo. BIG, LOUD, powerful... and has deeper more controlled low end than my berg ever did (but I guess that's why the ER's come rolling out) It sounds great when it starts to break up a little bit, and gets the job done like a champ every time. so you know, YMMV and all IME etc...
I'm guessing these are hard to come by in your usual music stores across North America, so trying Tecamp gear for most people is going to be difficult. But I strongly feel that if anyone is looking for a GREAT sounding 'boutique' style combo amp (fit and finish is stunning) in a lightweight compact package... these combo's are TOP notchI would not hesitate to buy any Tecamp product 'sight unseen'... especially if it's from Glenn as Ken mentioned earlier.. those guys are just great to deal with.
-pat.
I have a 500 and just sold my last NL210. I have a S212 on the way to me, via the TB classifieds!!! I am REAL excited to hear the Puma through a Tecamp cab!! Hopefully, I get the cab by next Thursday.....just in time for my weekend worship duty! There was nothing wrong with the NL210's. In fact, they sounded great with the 500. It's just GAS!! I have been GAS'n for a S212 for quite some time!! It was juts weird how I sold my last 210 right when I used S212 came up in the classifieds. I guess some things were just meant to be![]()
How's that s212 treating you there? Did your deal work out? Post up if you can... Id like to hear what you think![]()
