Thx for above reply - but would you be a bit more precise with signal flows e.g. identify precise "1/4' output" and 'XLR output" from rear panel of GED. A diagram with devices (showing links bw GED, Amp and FOH PA) would be helpful.

I love Love LOVE my Tech21 / Sansamp gear. I've always had either aBDDI, or VTDI or something.
But within the last year, I managed to pick up the Landmark 60 and Power Wedge 60, along with a 1st gen Sansamp DI. I've used this rig for about a dozen gigs, and the sound through the FOH is always , always great.

Just discovered this thread. I've been using a Fly Rig v2 as the centerpiece of my pedal board since they came out last July. I really enjoy the functionality of this device, for a while I was using it in VT driver mode exclusively but have since started experimenting with BDDI mode after our guitarist replaced their amp. I don't have a lot of effects needs in my current band but the ability to go between clean/dirt/filth is perfect for me.
Great little unit from Tech 21, browsing through the thread I don't see much about it though - anyone else here use this?

I'm a fickle pedal user, but Tech 21 devices are usually in the mix. Right now I own DP-3X, SH-1, Oxford, and Leeds. The DP-3X is my favorite single-pedal solution: first because of the tone, second because of the tuner. 
FYI, you don't have to choose one or the other -- you can run them both in parallel (better than series, IMO)! Back when I was rack-rigging I mostly did that with RBI/RPM, but eventually got the VT-RM and did RBI/VT-RM. Both ways sounded great. Check out the how-to here:

Years ago someone said they set up a triple parallel of RBI, RBM, and VT-RM (I don't recall whether it's in the thread). I never tried that one myself, but cheers to the guy for taking it to the next level.
While true, I only wish to devote one rack space at a time to it! In the end there can only be one! (At a time

New to the party…I had a BDDI v1 years ago, late 90's, never really bonded with it, so it's been in closeted for years. To me it was ultra scooped and kind of muddy. Recently I've been running through a D800 with a mostly clean tone, and thought I'd give a bddi v2 a try to add a bit of grit and for FOH. I picked one up here on TB and have been playing through it at home with good results. Really thickens up the tone and add a sizzling edge. Also seems very flexible, a few knob turns make a difference. 2 basic questions 1) what settings are folks using with active basses. 2) any benefit running the output into a Radial JDI and sending that to FOH? …for no other reason than I have a JDI and love it as a DI
I kinda want a BDDIv2 amp. Or, a power amp/cab combo.

I was also an early adopter of the BDDI. The mid scoop was fine with my mid-forward basses, but sometimes it didn't work. In that case, rolling Blend back to between 11 and 2 o'clock would often solve the problem. Cutting treble and bass (a "reverse mid boost", so to speak) could also help.
I haven't tried the BDDI v2, but these days I have moved on to other Tech 21 overdrives.
As for one of your questions: you could certainly use the DI out on your Radial and use the BDDI v2 as just a "Bass Driver".

I know I CAN use the JDI, I guess it's more a question of is the JDI a "better" (subjective I know) DI. Sending a clearer, more full range signal, etc.
I don't know how the JDI would do any of those things better than the BDDI. So much voodoo around DIs.
Still, no harm in trying it out. It just won't make your signal more full range or anything like that.
It's been nearly 4 years since I posted this on page 3 of this thread. Maybe it's time for a re-post. This is still a great pairing.

Played through the BDDI v2 at a gig for the first time last weekend. Signal path was:Stingray Special, Becos compressor(set to fairly light compression) BDDI, xlr to FOH, 1/4 inch output into a D800, than into Subway 212 and 115.
