where have you ordered from? everywhere i've looked is constantly showing up as 'out of stock'....

i've used this site alot (in fact twice this week)

As great as the VTbass is as a live tool, I find it EVEN BETTER when using it to record (DI'd) - I have Line6 Gearbox/podfarm software on my computer, which'll do for guitar and vocals, but the VTbass blows it off the face of the earth for bass tones.

I broke down last week and ordered one. I just got mine yesterday and I have to say that it is a really great pedal. There is a bit more to work with---tonewise---than the traditional BDDI. Both great pedals either way. I used it immediately for recording and had wonderful results.

I might get one of these from Tone Factor to do a video now that they've got them in, but I still want to wait for the Catalinbread Bass OD I just don't know what to go for still got the Linden in my head :D
The Linden's cool but it's just a Baxandall tone stack EQ and couldn't cop the tube tones by itself. You know you have to have a VT, bro...Justin has one ;)

And yes John, it will cop the sounds you can get with an SVT 2 Pro, though you can't get all elaborate with EQ like you can with the 2 Pro's graphic EQ. Not that you need it.

I'm hoping to have the opportunity to demo a VT Bass this afternoon though I don't know what availability is here in western Washington. Has anyone here used a VT Bass in front of a Markbass LMII (or similar model amp)? Will the VT Bass do a decent B-15N tone?

Thanks! :)

Lots of people have used the VT in front of the LMII and have been very happy. Also the answer to your last question is yes, according to B-15 owners.

Here's how I break it down as far as their tone-copping capabilities:

B-15 - 100%
VT - 95%
LMII - 90%

90 to 95% is amazing for SS gear. It really is. To me, the LMII cops a major part of what I like about the B-15. And the VT even more. Having said that, I'm using the VT as an overdrive and the LMII as a backup backup to either my B-15's or (as of last Friday) my 69 SVT because you just don't get that warm responsiveness of a tube amp that makes your privates tingle. You can cop tones, but not the tingly privates. Turns out I need the tingly privates a lot more than I thought I would ;)

Thanks for the input Jimmy! I hear the LMII similarly. Mine is a Jeff Berlin 1x15 combo and it cops a B-15 vibe nicely. The only thing missing is dirt. The LMII stays clean and it would be nice to be able to get just a little overdrive. Sounds like the VT Bass will do the trick. I'll know more tomorrow of course. :)

Apparently I don't know amp sounds. When I got my VT pedal I never read the instructions. Who does that? I was playing with the character knob and I thought that all the way counterclockwise was the B15 range, SVT around noon and modern all the way to the right with shades in between. So when I was playing with it I was telling myself how the B15 portion sounded like a B15 and the SVT range sounded like an SVT. But I had the B15 and the SVT range flipped. So, I guess I really don't know what a B15 or an SVT sounds like.

Oh well, I do like the tones I get from the pedal.

The B15 is a lot flatter sounding and the SVT has a much more scooped tone than most people realize.

whenever i listen to a song or band and i really dig their bass sound, in the end it usually turns out they are running these same two fundamental items of gear;
Fender Jazz bass (part of the reason i am a J bass nut),
Ampeg SVT rig.

hokay, I am buying an Ashdown ABM500 EVOIII, it's a great great amp and i know i can get my sound out of it.
my thinking is that perhaps the VT might be able to help me with those couple ampeg sounds that i dig so much (i'm talking that weird scoopy, spongy thing they do) if run in front of my ashdown.

like the bass sound through this song..

this idea, if successful will be much cheaper and lighter weight that actually buying an SVT head, plus i find Ashdowns AND the VT pedal more aesthetically pleasing.

thoughts?
