Tech21 Sansamp VT-bass reviewed

it does have a lot more gain on tap than i used last night, but it gets a good clean sound. high gain bass isn't really my thing so i didn't explore into the higher gain setting. i had the gain at about 10-11 o'clock and the character about 9 o'clock.

Pulled By a NIGHTY GAS i 've purchased one from USa-Bay ,just by hearing some clips on the net.First time that happen to me without to think about or asking Infos, and I feel a bit Guilty as actually i needed something with switchable presets , but at night did'nt think about that ,and anyway til now i did'nt hear anything preset-able with a convincing sound.
I hope to get in love though.
Now it's all the matter to know if the customs want to deliver to me at resonable times(i'm italian).

I've heard REALLY good "Dirty" sounds, so i wonder If One Of You explored The clean sounds On it and How It was Your feelings about .

I want to know that too..

Is it the BDDI without mid sucking, and more distortion?
No, it doesn't have a DI. But it definitely sounds better and has no mid sucking. Distortion? Don't know...but it does get gnarly. But with the drive off, it is totally clean, just like an SVT at low volumes. Best pedal ever made.

We have VTs here in Ukraine, but they are to expensive, so I bought my from ebay! I've been using my VT for 2 months now and the more I use it - the more i LOVE it! I tried different amp/cabs, different effect chains and I want to say, that VT cuts through every time! I wish I have a programmable one!
P.S. Like JimmyM said : "Pedal of fortune!"

Awesome :D

What kept me from getting a BDDI was the mid suck, and what kept me from buying the vt is that i thought it couldnt be clean but i can see clearly know the rain has gone.. (:

I just used mine on a gig for the first time the other night. I learned that I need to spend some time learning to use it. It's a powerful pedal, and a very different animal live at performance volume then at home through a small practice amp at low volume. I kept it turned off most of the time because it was always giving me too much of something, and I couldn't be tweaking it on the gig. But I look forward to working with it, because it's obviously got a lot of potential.

i'm going to pick up a second one this week to work as an overdrive pedal, as my clean tone now depends on this awesome, awesome pedal :)
I keep threatening to do this too, since I do a lot of fly gigs and can't always get an SVT. But then I think how it's probably overkill when I'm actually getting the SVT's on my rider most of the time.

Try a Bad Monkey / Fulltone Bassdrive / BB Preamp / Barber LTD etc into the VT first. The VT really makes other overdrives sounds incredible, and running my modded Bad Monkey into the VT gives me a much better overdrive tone than I can achieve with the VT alone.

Happy VT Bass user so far. I only really use it for overdrive and some pick playing, so it's not on all the time.

I got mine from TB'r jwymore (Invalid Link Removed) about a month or so ago. I'm not sure if he has any more left, but he's was great to deal with!

Thanks for the recommendation. I ordered a VT from Wymore on Sunday, and got it yesterday (Wednesday) . I'm sure I'll be doing business with them again. Free and quick shipping, great prices; what more could I ask for?

I'm so completely happy with the VT Bass. It is exactly what I was looking for. It sounds incredible through my TNT 115. It was just instantly perfect. I'm no longer in any hurry to replace this amp.

I played with the VT for just a little bit through my studio monitors (M-Audio BX8a's). I was really pleased with the sounds. Not as much as through the Peavey, but I'm sure I can dial in some great sounds with a little bit of time.

I absolutely love this thing with the character knob all the way to the left. I'd be happy if this were the only setting.

Okay, so while I was typing the above, I thought I would try my Strat through the VT and studio monitors. After just a couple of minutes I decided I'm going to sell my Damage Control Womanizer (a guitar pre-amp and distortion unit with two 12ax7 tubes). The VT is giving me the guitard sounds I've been trying unsuccessfully to get with the Womanizer.

Thanks, TB'ers for steering me toward this great little piece of equipment.
