I suppose it sounds like a digital ON/OFF sound with infinite sustain and zero dynamics in case they are all activated in series at the same time. Really weird

I don’t think he does custom orders anymore but he may do a small batch run if enough people push for it

There’s a form on the Broughton Audio website to suggest that one of his pedals be reissued. Link is Invalid Link Removed. Don’t bother PMing Josh at TB. I don’t think he monitors PMs here anymore. He’s gotten very busy and now does everything through his own website, although he will do an occasional very short post on the Broughton Audio superthread over in Effects.

Some of Josh’s pedals can be hard to get ahold of. But speaking as an owner of a few, they’re definitely worth the effort it sometimes takes to score one.

Yup, that’s what I was thinking of. Generally the best way to find out what Josh is up to is to scour the Broughton Super Thread (beyond what is on the site) and search for his posts.
He occasionally answers questions there, but the only way to ask for a new pedal/small batch re-release is through the website archive form.

I say this with love but sometimes I think the participants in that particular mega thread purposely add all the jibber jabber in order to bury real news from outsiders. I would love to try some of that but I can't keep up.

I don’t think that’s the intent at all. I’d liken it more in spirit to the bandiage, chatter, and conversation you might hear in a room where everybody’s waiting for a celebrity to eventually make his or her appearance. I wouldn’t read too much into it.

It’s just clubhouse banter. Ask a serious question or seek advice there and the regulars will respond in a far more focused and helpful manner.

really? how could you say that? We're passing time and having fun until someone has a question or a new product finally comes down the pipe.....don't slander us just because you feel slighted in some way from some imaginary something or other....come on man, really? You need a sense of humour......

I searched and nothing came up in talkbass. Anyone heard anything about this compressor?

Optical Compressor CO-2

Optical compressor with a very nice looking feature set: controls for ratio, threshold, attack, release, make-up gain, dry blend, and what seems like a switch for some type of pre-set high-pass side chain control for triggering the compressor.

Sorry! @loopee @40Hz for someone who is extremely sensitive to being insulted I am also supremely gifted at stepping on toes

Not at all. The Broughton Audio Super Thread can be a little off putting at first. Even now, about a third of the time I have no idea what some folks are going on about in that thread. Which is only fair since half the time nobody knows where I’m coming from either. Apparently there’s a certain “fearful symmetry” at work, as William Blake once put it. ;):)

I just ordered one of these thanks to a “Stupid Deal of the day,” online. Just for kicks. It was cheap enough. Might as well give it a shot.

Sounds pretty good in the one video I’ve found online. (The useful portion of the demo, in my humble opinion, begins around 2:45).

I’m very interested in this. Would love to read a review on this one.
