Jonathan has an 18" cab at his house....he calls it The General or The Field Marshall, or something.
It sounds great and was the first 18"bass cabinet I'd seen in years.
How close in design are the two cabinets?

I'm pretty sure The General is ported. Also... I have not seen the 1822, but I'm pretty sure The General is larger, and I'm guessing it's at least 30 pounds heavier.
Has anyone done a side by side with production cabs? Like, let's say Mesa 410 or 2x112's? Running either a Reiner studio preamp with 2500 watts or studio 1200 in a live setting?
Looking for a volunteer?

Beautiful P bass ,Zoomie...What's the story on that?
They are quite different, though the General Sherman served as inspiration for me. I love a good sealed cab, but for most of my local gigs, lugging around an NV412 Or NV610 is very impractical. Jonathan uses the term 'vintage hi-fi' and that's the sound in my head. We started having conversations about a relatively small and light cab that could perform like a large sealed cab. There are very few drivers out there that could do it. We really needed to find an over designed driver. The upside of a sealed cab is punch and clarity. They have the best transient response, IMO. The tradeoff is you're going to get a little less deep low end and power handing. So we found a driver with huge lows and power handling to compensate.
We also wanted it to be very plug and play and I needed some extended high end capability for doubling and upright only gigs. I love his choice for mid drivers. You really don't notice they're in there, but the cab will smoothly go up fairly high if you need that. Jonathan isn't a big fan of tweeters or LPads and these mid drivers eliminate the need for that. I had my doubts that a soft dome mid driver would be robust enough to handle super loud slap upright gigs, but after putting well over 100 shows on the first prototype, including large outdoor shows, it would seem my concerns were unfounded
For the record, Jonathan and I are not business partners in any way. We're pals who riffed on some design ideas for fun
OK.
Sounds like, at first glance, this is lighter than a 15/6/1...
...more pointed than The General, ( with all due respects, to The General, Sir....)
towards a more useful platform.
I am overly interested IN A SEALED cabinet... OR TWO.
What is power handling capacity of one.??.....two....????
I'll email Mark for prices...
You guys are great.
Bof-a-ya...!
Mark, don't you have a test vid with the Drake? I can't find it.
How do these contrast with Dukes 18" offerings?
This really has me interested in an 18 cab... mmmmmmm I am currently looking for a One CaB fits all situations solution and i run teh gamut on style, venue changes >> And sealed may be what i have been missing for so many years and just didnt know it yet. mmmmmmm?
I just dont like the beaminess that happens with almost every 410 that i have played..
