The Über-Jay Mark2

I am indeed considering a piezo + bridge p-up for the fretless V. I am torn though, I don't have much experience with piezo, other than playing a few basses on and off. Not enough to have a clear opinion about it.
Do you - or anyone here - can offer an informed POV? I have the feeling that a piezo might be a good choice with a semi-hollow with some acoustic quality to it. well.... not sure of this either....

Thanks Stumbo! I came across some of those links. Great to read the others too. I do have an Ashbory De Armond for a few years now. I don't really know how good/bad that is as a benchmark. But it's fun to play.

My vision for a fretless is of maximum 'sing-ability' ;) and minimum electronic wizardy - if that makes sense at all....
It might be exactly what a piezo can deliver. But I so love the voice of a MM Stingray or a Wal fretless...... :D

ps: I have started a Über-Jay page on Facebook. Here's the link

Thanks! I didn't know this Canadian maker whereas I am familiar with David King's work. Great craftsmanship and bold design. He also makes absolutely gorgeous knobs.

BTW, work is over and so is the short break in Europe. I'm flying back to Über-Jay in two days :) Only disappointment was, I couldn't find the Stellartone. All shops I asked never even heard about it. It must be an Ol' Continent thing. Guess I'll have to order one - or wait for the next time I travel your way. cheers! :bassist:

While eagerly awaiting to finish this build, I am locking down the specs for the next one - which, as you might know by now, will be a fretless fiver.

I have posted a question/poll on the Ü-J page > Über-Jay Basses | Facebook and I'd really like to know what you guys think :D

If you're not into FB, no problem. I'll probably post again on LC or on the Basses section of TB. cheers! :bassist:
