The 5 Best Ibanez basses Ever Made?

One of my favorites is a 5 string BTB. 505 or 515? I'm not too sure. It was a Japanese one though. Sold it cause I wasn't into 5 strings.

Best all around bass for me is the rd707 or 727. Just love the sound I get out of it.

pardon me i sanded off her face lol.

1. 89-1990 - SR1000e (w gotoh 206 and dimarzios) EBONY board! bring back the ebony!! Later came with accucast n emg's. so versatile from jazz to thrash metal.

2. Affirma - most beautiful thing they've done IMO.

3. late 80's SR 924 - wish i could find one of these beauties in the USA!

4. black eagle

5. ATK700

(honorable mention to Adam Nitti's new sig model, please make this in 4-5 sting too though)

I have very little experience with Ibanez basses - I've only properly played a couple. But I have to say, the sr1600 is an incredible instrument! It was a real effort to put the thing down once I'd picked it up and started playing. Lovely finish to the neck, great pickups - I get the impression this bass would be amazing for metal - gorgeous top wood (poplar burl?), and the bridge is great too. It's also nicely balanced, and the body is a nice shape. he ONLY thing that stopped me frm buying this bass was the matte finish to the body, generally not a fan of matte finishes in bodies and it felt like I ad really dry hands when I touched it.

I am fairly new to Ibanez but I would have to say the Ibanez Premium line are as good for the money as any bass out there. Especially my new BTB 1405. Its the best sounding and overall quality bass I've ever owned. Hard to believe that you just don't here much about these beauties.

is the bass in the second picture a sr1605? That is stunning, how do you like it?[/Q

I absolutely love the Nordstrand pickups. They are the best sounding clear sound I've ever had. I bought the SR 1605 about 2 months ago new and I love it. The neck is slim but its effortless to play and so light. Quality instrument. The BTB 1405 that I bought a month ago is a beast. The same electronics but it sounds even better than my SR. I'm blown away by the Ibanez Premium line of bass.
