I'm already #217, but my Acoustic habit changed a little. The B320 is gone, traded for a little Gibson lap steel amp, but in it's place, I now have a 370 and 408 cabinet. The guy I bought those from threw in a non-working 118, so I now have, in numerical order, a 118, a 126, a 165, a 370, and a 408. The 165 is a tube guitar amp, so I'm not sure it counts, but it sure works well and sounds great.

I had an acoustic as my main amp back in the day. It was a combo, mid-80s vintage and had the B120 head and a 15 with a karlson slot, and wheels randomly placed on the side (handy but kind of weird looking, as if the karlson slot wasn't weird enough..). Something blew and I didn't have money to fix it... Man I miss that amp. Now I am wanting that acoustic tone again.

Just picked up a 301 for $300. Paired up with my Marshall Jubilee 3530, I'm freaking out. Added to my SVT810 Straightback/MB Fusion rig, I finally smell fear from the 2 guitards.

Does anyone know if it makes a difference if you play with the 301 cab on its side as opposed to upright? Will that affect how the sound is thrown around much?

Putting a 301 on its side is generally considered as not a good thing. Dznr02 (the guy who designed the amp) has commented that its a misuse of the cabinet.

I have done it in the past. With a couple of single 15s on top. The sound was not great. The bottom end just hit my and the audience's feet and all we heard was the midrange from the 15s.

The cab throws the sound in a way that when upright it hits your ears and when on its side it does not.

Also, on its side there is less stage conductivity (if you are not on concrete) and last, you will end up scratching the tolex. I know I did. Dang!
