The Acoustic Club

Oh good, you're all still here. I've been Acousti-GASing for a couple of months. You know, reading up on TB and seeing what people thought about this stuff, asking fellow players.

I finally made it in. Here she is...

:D

Sort of an FYI for B200 combo owners... I don't know if anyone else here has done this, but I replaced the stock speaker with an Eminence Kappalite 3015, and wow what a difference. Frequency response is a lot more even and balanced, especially in the low mids. Tone is nice and clear and tight but still retains the Acoustic character. And there is no noticable drop in volume, even though the Eminence is rated at 8 ohms, the higher 100.8 db sensitivity easily makes up for the difference, it will handle everything the amp can put out without breaking a sweat. This speaker kills in this little box.

Just wanted to share and join the club . My 301HB W bin, serial #HB4184

This cabinet was stolen from me about 4 years ago.
I hope im getting this right....member #72 Sunnmon a good friend of mine said he found a 301 for me and shot me a pic.

I just went nuts...because many years ago i stuck the little yellow sticker on it..being the silly kid i was....and instantly recognized it!!!

You found my stolen cabinet man!!!!! I already had my 44 loaded and wanted to drive out there and offer this guy some "cash" right away.

had to calm down, because it had already changed hands a few times..and the seller was not the thief.

So i paid 270 bucks for this, on top of the 150 i paid for it...many many years ago.....all that matters is she is back home now:D

I have a Acoustic 370 head as well, which is my current bass amp ....and believe me everytime i hear about guys making fun of 30 + year old equipment it makes me laugh....
Aside from a few tube amps...this solid state wonder has been the best tone i have heard ever.....and i have tried and owned many "new" amps. But the 370 has been there for me for years now. 2n3055 Transistors and Quasi Complementry output stages is the ancient tone god. laugh if you will...and eat my dinosaur poop non acoustic lovers.:spit::bassist:

I'm sorry to hear about the theft, but happy that you got it back. Either way, even by today's standards, $420 for a 301 cabinet is cheap! It SUCKS having to buy your own gear back, though =(

I finally completed my own "big rig": 2 x Acoustic 361's (bass is a 2004 Geddy Lee Signature)-

and yes, my fat-ass actually gigs with them...SOMETIMES! This is a recent gig with one of my bands, playing the night of the pirate-themed Gasparilla Day Parade in yBor City, Florida:

Soon as I can afford it, I'll be getting one of the new 361's from Acoustic USA!

Does anyone want to buy a vintage 370/301 stack (301 not shown) from me, so I can pay for the 361? =) How about an Acoustic 870 6-channel mixing console with two 803 PA speakers? How about a vintage Acoustic B220? =)

That's nice gear but the new 360/361 is head and shoulders over it. You'll be in heaven once you get them. Does anyone know when Guitar Center is going to start carrying the new Acoustic USA 360/361? I enquired but got no response so far.

To whom did you inquire? I wouldn't be surprised if GC's people had no answer, but George might have a rough idea.

That would be normal...but I suspect that GC's CS emails go to sales specialists who probably wouldn't respond because they have no idea what you were even talking about, haha.

I'm sure customer service emails go the customer service department. If they don't know, they can respond & say that they'll look into it. I HATE when corporations ignore you. :spit:

Sorry if this has been answered somewhere else, but does having an Acoustic cab count? If so, I'd love a number. I just picked up an old, awesomely beat up 106 that (with new speakers) sounds great with my Sunn O))) Coliseum 300.
