Here is the new (to me) 120 head after cleaning up all the pots and switches and replacing the power cord.

Specs from Acoustic page say 125 watts into 4 ohms. Has an effects loop too. Cleaning the pots removed all the scratchies and replacing the power cord got rid of the 60 cycle hum. Not bad for $50.00 and about an hours worth of labor.

Along with my 260 Mini Stack I'm a double member now. All I have to do now is keep an eye on CL and wait for a vintage acoustic cab to pop up to put the 120 on. Hmmm, maybe a 2 X 15?

The first three numbers are the model number and are always painted on. The last five numbers are stamped and are the serial number. Nothin' wrong here.
Besides I only paid $50.00 for it and it works fine. :hyper:
So, can any of you Acoustic experts date this for me?

SurferJoe is definitely more experienced on acoustic gear than me but........looks like the first three numbers are made with the sticker then they stamp the numbers after that? The first three are not stamped and the rest of the numbers look like they are stamped to me. Not sure though.

edit: unless that was what you were getting at, lol :D

I use Google/FDirefox and they have a spell-checker on every page, so you don't have to copy-paste here if the corrections are real time.

Anyway - I was thinking that the first 1 looks like it overstamped a 2 - possibly.

And - I only used the older Acoustic gear in days 'way past in surf-rock venues in SoCal.

No worries SurferJoe. It's all good. It's just my weird sense of humor. I was following your concern to it's conclusion and thought to myself if this guy went to the trouble of altering this for some reason, he's not a very good crook because he only made $50.00 off me!:p

Still wondering if anyone can date this for me from the number, or point me to website where I can. Searched all over the Acoustic page and could not find anything.

the date of manufacture on all those old acoustics is almost always stamped on the inside of the chassis.

Played my 370 through my new (to me) Sunn 2x15 with Eminence drivers. BLA-DOW. Killer, nice and full and more present than what I was using. Whether or not this is because it's one big cabinet vs 2 small ones or the drivers are the same size or something else is unknown to me.

Either way I think it's killer. I feel like I am more present and at the same time blended with the guitars better than I have been in the past. The real kicker: my signal is actually a fair bit lower than I was running it into the amp!

So excited!


P.s. I know it's "no pics no amp" hahaha but I honestly did forget my phone last night at practice, so I'll try and post pics tonight or tomorrow!

Here's my B100. She's a beaut! But I think she's getting old because when I turn the lows up she just doesn't allow all of the lowness to come through (sounds like its peaking but preamp peak light isn't coming on). Any suggestions would help.

...and the Clip Light only means you are sending a hot(ter) signal to the main amplifier - it doesn't have anything to do with the frequency response.

Alright, I'll try that thanks, and I had all the preamp settings to 12:00 because I was trying out my Eden WTDI and wanted a pretty dry signal.
