I'd love to join the club,

It's a B600H and a B410... I get the feeling before 2012 is over I'll have a second B410 next to it.

OVER or UNDER, but NOT next to...................

Some cabs, sure
On a square 4x10 without ports I don't buy it - the speakers are going to be equally spaced as long as they're touching the phasing should be the same stacked and placed side by side
You might hear it a little better in a loud room if they're stacked, but that's just it being closer to your ears, not techo-jargon

Greetings, Acoustic Brain Trust:

The other day I saw a cab and I can't get it out of my mind. Wondering if anybody here has any thoughts re model number, value etc.

I don't have a picture.

Definitely "old" Acoustic. Big 212 cab with a horn-type appearance. Maybe 3 or 4 feet high? (It was up on something.)

This 212 also has a 215 big brother.

Beefy handles on the sides. Did not appear to be powered, but I could be wrong about that. Almost certain it was a bass cab.

Anyone? Bueller? I will now scroll through all 3 parts of this epic thread and look at the mug shots. But any input is welcome. If I was going to buy this cab it would have to be today.

TY!

Get! In! My! Belly!!!

I got a good enough price that it was worth satisfying this baffling lust. There was a feeding frenzy at GC (it's closing) and I needed to tear off a chunk. And I did.

Anybody know what I got?

Freakin' sweet! Mind my asking how much you paid? How long until that store closes. I need to get over there and tear off a hunk too!

Got them down to one fitty out the door. (There was a brief return to haggling as they tried to unload used gear and floor models.) I figured for that price I pretty much couldn't go wrong. They had a 215 version too but I didn't think it would fit in my car. They wanted a lot more for that one.

GC El Cerrito is gone as of 5:00 today. :( But they are only moving; the Emeryville store opens soon, they're going to have some sort of Grand Opening sale, and they will probably still have that 215.

Still no clue what model/wattage/impedence this thing is. Seems like Acoustic experimented a lot with stuff for short times. Cranked out a lot of obscure models. Can't wait til Monday! (Next rehearsal.) I dreamt about this cab all night and woke up kind of obsessed. :help:

Score! I think.

Not a bad deal at all. Too bad about the El Cerrito GC closing. I got a post card about the Emeryville store opening but I didn't know they were closing El Cerrito to do it.

I've been looking at the Acoustic wiki pages and saw some pics in some of the old catalogs that would suggest what you have there is a P.A. speaker. Nothing matches exactly but just the way that cabinet is designed that's what it looks like. Aren't there any tags or number plates on the back?

I recently scored a 120 head off C.L. for $50.00 and just spotted a 4X12 403 guitar cab for $80.00, that I'm trying to snag to put it on. Waiting for a reply from the seller. I know it's a guitar cab but it's period correct for the head which could be used for guitar as well and the price is right. Most likely will not get played out anyway. Just a nice rig for the practice room.

Interrresting. Thanks for the intel. If it is a P.A. speaker, maybe I will keep biamping at the rehearsal space and only throw the 100Hz and above at her. No tweeter to blow, I think.

Nice score on a $50 head. Have fun!

yea dont go pushing too many lows through that cab. With 2-12's and no porting ect... it would live a short life.
If the 2-15 they had for sale at the same store looked like the one you bought then it's called a 402 and it's a terrific all around cab. Welcome to the Land Of Acoustic. Now get over to the forum and start geeking out!

Do cabs count?

One of the speakers is blown so I'm using it as a 2x15 for now. If anyone has one, I'm looking for an original speaker to match all four. Would anyone recommend a third party speaker if I can't find an original? Something that will blend well with the three others (or possibly two others if I pick up two non original) and that will sound good in the cab. I was thinking of looking for a pair of Black Widows or EVM 15L drivers.
