The Acoustic Club

As of this date I have not played through a B-210Neo. I'm hesitant to even try one in any brand, as I think the smaller cabs have got to hurt sonic response or do something otherwise dastardly to the sound.

I'm from the age of great big boomy boxes that took three men and a boy to move.

Perhaps a B-600H and two B-210Neos would be a great setup too. As it is, I really like the B-600H and two B-410s. It just kicks some serious air molecules.
 
Does anyone else get a bit of a fuzzy from your amp when the strings are dying down from a note? It's when the sound coming out is very soft. At normal playing levels, no problem. Now it could be my bass. The active on board preamp is going to be replaced some time this week (bass pot isn't working anymore along with a pop when you touch the strings. The grounds look okay so I think it's the preamp.) I'm hoping it's a bass problem and not the amp. I use a 600 with 410. Thanks!!

^what are your settings on your amp? I don't experience that but my settings may not be the same as yours; I don't run a lot of gain and do not experience what you're saying and considering the other conditions of your preamp I would say it's more related to that. You can also get more feedback from your amp as the bass is closer to the speakers so try moving out from in front of it and see if that takes away the fuzz. That's all I got for now...
 
Not totally. It diminishes certain frequency ranges as you adjust the knob. It is hard to understand if you cannot turn it on and off and sweep it to hear the results, but if you have a foot pedal for the Standby, it can also control the Notch filter too.

If the Notch is working at a certain freq and you are in it's range, then it could indeed cause the note to deteriorate oddly at low volumes, although I have had that problem on mine.

If you - or anyone - wants to know how to set that foot pedal up to make both the Notch Filter and the Standby to work, I'll post the way to do it. Otherwise the amp isn't being used to it's full capacity.

I wouldn't mind knowing, but that was what I thought the filter did but I haven't really messed with mine. My concept of it was like an adjustable scoop. Not really useful especially with 6 knobs for the EQ IMO.
 
Yeah it's useful all right.

Get into a venue that booms back a certain frequency and you can tame it down. That keeps people from grabbing their ears and running out of the building. I even used it to keep a metal fire station from rattling the walls.

My gain is about 2 o'clock. It sound like there is a tear in a speaker or something like that when the volume is very low and about to fade away. I have to replace the on-board preamp on my bass cuz it took a dump. There is a grounding issue along with the bass pot not working anymore. And I just noticed this problem when the bass preamp went bad. I feel that it's a bass problem and not my rig but I thought I would throw it out there encase I was missing something. Thanks!

If you are thinking of a pedal with lights - it won't work with power from the amp as it will 'see' the lights and the amp won't internally switch. That's not to say that you cannot drop a 9VDC battery into the switch and fire the lights by the extra connex on the switches.

I suggest the following dual switch assembly:::

You're gonna only need the actual 'hard' switches, not the soft side of the switches. Many switches have a soft-latch to keep any popping and clicks out of the circuit - but that's on the sound signal side and won't be needed here - again unless you want to use some sort of LEDs or whatever.

The Live Wire FSW22 dual latching switch I picked has three wires coming in - 1) red 2) yellow 3) black.

This is how you've got to change everything to make it work.

REMOVE ALL OTHER WIRES AND CONNECTIONS, AND JUST USE WHAT I HAVE SHOWN HERE:::

Notice that there are six tab-connex on each switch. You can use a DVM to find the ones that just come ON slowly up to values like a rheostat as you slowly press the buttons in.

These other pairs on each switch will be useable for the indicator LEDS or jewels if you want to use them.
