Hey if anyone is interested, Im looking to sell my 370, 230, and 406 cab. The cab is worn but work great with no issues. Both amps were recently serviced. 3 prong power cord was added to both amps. Both are clean as a whistle. I already have a 150/106, dont really need these right now. Wanna give dibs to peeps that are subscribed to this thread first.

Oh and I'm sure that the newer combo amps are sweet, but my Aguilar GS212 isn't gonna leave any time soon either, hence the need for a head.

I can't speak to how the 140 compares to the 370, but when I used the 150 (same amp as the 140, but with reverb and tremolo) it definitely had a nice mid-range overdrive going on when pushed.

I have begun gigging with a new B810. Not exactly the vintage cool stuff, but I really dig it. Do I qualify?

So, I received a FREE Acoustic B20 when I bought a Bass the other day. I am Blown Away that a 20 Watt amp can sound like that! It has made me VERY Curious about Acoustic Amps!!! I am Really digging the B20 for just jammin' in my studio right now. Is the B20 good enough to get me into the Acoustic Club??? :)

It's a stereo rig with the bridge p/u running through the one on the left and the neck p/u running through the one on the right.

The GK 800RB and Peavey 1810 (full range) in the middle is for my Moog taurus pedals.

Anybody use the balanced out on their Acoustic Head, or Combo, for recording? How does it sound?
I tried recording straight from he balanced outs SWR, Warwick, and Ampeg combos and it never comes CLOSE to the tone the amp is putting out itself.
How are the Acoustic Amps doing in this regard?

Since the balanced-out on most rigs is designed to go to a mixer and then out to record or FOH, it isn't always advantageous to have it colored by the final amp.

You can set it WET or DRY or anything in between and PRE or POST on the Acoustic amps - combos too, but most times the sound engineer wants to have his way with it and just wants a clear-clean signal.

For sure, you can send the effects OUT but with no final amplification - and that's the purpose of that tap.

I like it well enough, but when I need DI-Out, I just use my MXR M80 - which is always on and running anyway.

I recently aquired the B600 head and 2 B410 cabs as I just couldn't resist the blowout price at GC. I had to fiddle a lot to get a tone I like. My amp must be different or our tonal desires are totally in separate worlds (not bashing as neither is wrong) but to me with my amp and cab with your settings sounds like a hollow tin can :eek: Here are the settings I have finally settled on with the notch filter OFF:

Yeah - the twin 410s are a lot more high-oriented I think too. Looking at it now, and if it was on sliders, I'd have a 'frown-y' instead of the 'smile' that most people run.

But my settings are in a fully carpeted room and I get a lot of boom at the low ends, so I run them like that.

One addition to the way I set mine is that I'm running a MXR M80 and I've got a lot of LOWs cranked into it. That may be a big difference right there too.

Outside, it's totally different as I go more along the lines that you're running with one exception: are you deaf at the 200 Hz range? You've got that dimed and I'm just wondering.

Hmmm, :hmm: which head and cab(s) are you using? Your comment about the 410's has me wondering how different they are from say the 810 or the 15's.

And yeah, deaf is prolly right! :D

Just lost my post for the second time! I'll try again ....................

I use a B-450 and a B-600H since they are both 600W heads, just one's in a cab with a pair of 10s.

I keep the B-450 + the B-115 at home mostly, but it goes out as a unit for lower volume shows and jams.

My B-600H is usually on top of one or two B-410s or on a B-810. But I've been known to put the B-600H on the 410 stack and put the B-810 behind them and face it backwards to cover those 40 acre BBQs and dances.

Running two 410s gets to 4Ω and the B-810 is already 4Ω, so together in parallel they are a full 600 Watts at 2Ω.

The EQ I posted is for venues with lots of carpet and heavy drapes and/or big winter coats on the audience. That stuff sucks up the freqs that penetrate, so I drop the lows a bit.

However, I am also running an MXR M80 with a lot of lows coming out of it, so there's that too.

Do you think there is any tone difference between the 810 and using 2 410's?

I don't have a need for a pro rig but I sure would like to have some of the nice gear you guys have! Great looking set-ups and I bet they sound incredible!

For my weekend warrior gigs, I use a (2011 yr) Acoustic B-200 with a 15" and a matching B-410 cabinet (4, 10"s) and for the smaller to medium size venue's we perform at, it does the trick for me. (When I get my daughter out of college, I hope to be able to spring for something a little more better.)
