The Acoustic Club

I love my heavy old original ACC gear, but I don't get to use it at most gigs because it's overkill. Everything I've acquired has been within the last 18 months so obviously I could have gotten more modern and lighter weight stuff.

I had several modern and lightweight rigs already and probably would consider buying some of the new GC Acoustic gear if I was in the market.

I hear the new stuff, though missing the historic pedigree actually sounds quite good. I would however expect that price-point and modern manufacturing short-cuts will probably have taken some of the infamous professional-grade performance and durability away.

I believe that the original ACC line's legend will remain intact in spite of the level of current and future Acoustic production.

I am sure Jaco would be using class D amplifiers by this time because he would be old enough to try to save his back. God forbid you accept the fact that 90% parts of even USA made bass amplifier likely are from Asia (same as acoustic amplification). If you want some lessons on how to open up your own email, use a smartphone, or your block my message, please give me a shout. I'll be glad to walk you through it (if I'm not enjoying playing a mix between classic and modern equipment). On that note, I'm going to go ahead and play my Gibson Thor bass amp, and try to enjoy it gem from the past without being so damn judgemental of others.

Take a breath. Good lord. I'm more tech savvy than any ten people and I've have and had class D, A/B and all kinds of fun stuff. I click the ignore when people are trolling and specifically when folks break a rule. The new stuff is fine, not my cup of tea. I'm new to the vintage stuff and enjoy it quite a bit.

Relax.

Lighten up, Francis. I think your humor-meter may be broken.

I have a GC "Acoustic" rig, too. I like it very much for what it is, but it factually is lacking quite a bit in the quality department. The stock speaker blew without ever being pushed harder than home practice, the pilot light died and now the knobs are falling apart even though it sees use no more than five or six times a year. I do absolutely agree that GC "Acoustic" gear does sound very good.

For your information, I'm as big of a nationalist as the desert is wet. But why let reality get in the way of a fun fabricated narrative?

Also, glad you're "cable" of being obnoxious. Self awareness is an admirable trait.

I would say you have a pretty good sense of humor yourself Jackie! Let's face it, if you took The High Ground on any comment made, you wouldn't be interested in the low end. You would be a guitar player.. sorry to hear you purchased a lemon from Guitar Center. It's not too damn hard to do considering that most of their gear has been played for quite some time before you purchase it. If not, the only brand I know of that I haven't received at least one lemon from in the past went out of business the same as acoustic control Corporation (SWR). My humor comes off as a little dry, but I think both of us can laugh pretty good at the fact that all the brands are pretty much selling out, then sooner or later all equipment will just be relabeled Behringer. I am starting to come to the conclusion that a few factories in China are making the majority of amp equipment.

I never trolled anyone. I was only reflecting what others were putting out there as a welcoming mat .

Well I do make my living as a philosopher so I am plenty reflective.

^ Please tell me the 81 in your user name isn't you birth year. :roflmao:
I'm an old soul. I have old equipment older than the Pyrex bottle your mom used to feed you with. Nothing like a vintage Bass, with a set of flats, and a road Worn female groupie with a mustache to bring you wisdom beyond the years on your birth certificate. Let's all agree that we're here for the same purpose. I love Low end and go from there you ACC addict. Good chat
