please explain this quoted statement. That only makes sense if you are adding 2-16ohm cabs to get the total of 8 ohms.

My recollections are the B200 can handle a load of 4 ohms minimum. Which lets you run 1-4 ohm cab or 2-8 ohm cabs. All of the older Acoustic cabs were 4 ohm cabs. Thus you shouldn't add anything if you're running a 4 ohm cab already. Correct me if I am mistaken.

Yeah maybe I got it all backwards again but wouldnt connecting another 4 ohm cabinet in series to the internal 4 ohm cabinet make it a 2 ohm load??

Maybe they plan on you connecting an Acoustic 8 ohm cab which would bring it to 6 ohms and then give you the lower wattage??
you guys are thinking in parallel. Two 8 ohm cabs in parallel make 4 ohms. A 4 and 8 ohm cab in parallel makes 2.667 ohms.

When you are adding speakers in series, you are adding the impedance. So two 8 ohm cabs in series becomes 16 ohms. Two four ohm cabs in series become 8 ohms.
 
Really....well I'm glad I checked here then because I might have seriously f'kaked my amp otherwise. How did you discover the mistake?
Look on page 11 in the same manual, the signal flow diagram shows the series connection for the combo and the parallel connection for the head.

It's actually wired that way so you can't blow the combo amp with an external cab. Whatever the impedance of the external cab, it will add to the internal 4 ohm load, so there's no way you can have an overall load less than 4 ohms.

Ahh...ok, I see it in the signal flow diagram. Smartly designed...so if I understand correctly, I can basically add a cab with any impedance and not have concerns about damaging the combo.

Anyhow, I was hoping for a little troubleshooting from some other Acoustic owners. My speaker seems to be making a very odd light distortion sound on lower frequency notes. It happens after I've played the notes and they're starting to fade out. I've tried with the horn on, off, different volumes, different eq's, etc. The problem just won't go away. I kinda get the feeling it's a loose speaker but I'm not experienced at these things. Can anyone give me any tips?

Btw- If it's a loose speaker, how do I get the grille off?

If you picked this up from GC and it's still within the warranty period, I would recommend putting it back in the box and returning it for another one.
