[Syncopation]

Speaking of 126 combos, and how loud they can get,
I came across this a little while ago. A young Marcus Miller playing through , what looks to me, like a 126 combo.
Of course it could be slaved to a bigger amp. Who knows, but it sure sounds like an ACC.
What do you all think?

WOW! That 126 was incredible! I'll be honest, I hadn't heard Sanborn before this video. I like it! I'd like to have that playing on a record player really loud all through the house. I'll look up some more. Back to the 126. If the one I tried yesterday sounded half as good as the one played in the video it would be at my house and I would be here telling of how great it is. I still have my eyes on it though.

No doubt we were hearing DI as those 126's never sounded that good, no matter who was playing.

You have to tune the fork at home or somewhere else with a tuner on a signal frequency (e.g. on E) . Then afterwards when you engage the tuning fork, it'll make a terrible noise/sine wave and you have to use that to tune your bass on that single frequency. From that point on, you tune your other strings on the reference E. Needless to say, you'll never ever use that feature, and it's completely useless

Sorry, I can't agree with you on that. Admittedly the 126 and 120s are not real loud, but the pre amp section is the same as a 220, which just has a more powerful power amp. I think they sound amazing up to the point they distort, and even a little beyond, depending what you're after.
I'm not a big Jaco guy, but with my fretless, I've summoned up some very close Jaco tones.
I'm playing in a band with a loud drummer and my 120 through a 2x10 Eden cab sounds every bit as good as that video, except I'm not Marcus Miller.
Its not likely I'll be playing with any guitar players who use Marshall stacks any time soon, so the 120 fits the bill perfectly, and if the Marshalls do arrive, I've got my 220!

That was my show!
I use to work late and that was the only decent thing on at that hour. Plus I had been a David Sanborn and of couse, a Marcus fan for a while

It's all good friend. None of us would be here if we didn't love our ACC gear.
And you're right, that 126 had to be slaved by some thing on a stage that big with that many musicians on it.
I love the point when Robben Ford Kicks in with his solo.

Hi just joined the proud Acoustic Bass amp owners this year and I'd like to join the club here. Here's my gear. Bought the 8x10 in the spring. It's my main cab now with my Mesa Bass 400+ on top. Just got the B120 and 301 this past week. I'm blown away by both. For being designated a "light duty" head, that B120 has balls. And I'm sure all of you Acoustic aficionados know all about the 301. That cab is a monster. Anyway look forward to buying and talking acoustic amps with you all.

Got this back in August on Reverb from a seller in Western Canada. Great shape, sounds amazing. I got a footswitch to turn the eq on/off, but I prefer it on.

Also thought I'd mention there was a 220 on Reverb last week, but got taken down. Probably because they did not make 220's in 1973, not to mention they were asking over 1k cad (or about $830 usd) and it has a power button issue, so they probably got a sh*tstorm of messages telling them they were way off.

There was also a 150b on local CL recently (now sold) for $250 cad (or $200 usd) in decent shape, but I passed. Holding out for a 360.

You know the reason why mine (purchased new in 1978) looks like this one after all these years? I used it heavily and gigged it a lot from 1978 to 1990.

Well besides being very careful with my gear and always taking it with MY stuff in MY vehicle; I usually put it in the original box to carry it around. Kind of a PITA but back then an anvil case for it would have cost more than the amp.

I actually had the box until about two years ago, finally thew it out because it had gotten quite nasty over the years (various layers of tape had been on it) and I figured it's just a stay at home head now. I also have no intent of selling it, it was my first nice piece of gear (well after the Rickenbacker 4001).

Man you got a very minty specimen, SCORE!

Your white power switch is more than likely original, no doubt the red rocker is a replacement.

I think the power switch on mine was replaced, and the amp was serviced before sale. Every other 220 I've seen has a white switch. I've read of a few 220's (like the one I linked on Reverb) that has had power switch issues.
There's a fairly recent 220 demo on Youtube by a guy from Vancouver BC, and he did a good job of convincing me to get one. Glad I did.

My 220 has the white switch and it's broken in the "always on" position. Much better than the a"always off" position!
