Our 100th member and many thanks to this man for being instrumental in getting the new Acoustic line of amps out to the public!
This is SOOO weird/wrong! Stacknobuser should've been number 1 on the list in the first place!!! Now we've got to start over from scratch !!! Everybody needs to go out and buy something Acoustic and get this mess fixed. We've got like.... 30 hours left to get back up to 100 ( legally this time!)...

Sweet lookin' 470! Back in the day (late 70's, early 80's) I had an opportunity to play through a fellow bassists Acoustic at a party. Sadly, I can't remember what model or anything....good party...but I couldn't forget how freakin' awesome it sounded. The thing was so full and loud it was like petting a dragon and took hardly any right hand effort at all. The thing was just eager to take whatever you played and then send out in huge full tonal waves. A world of difference from my Sunn Concert head (even going into 2 x Ampeg B25B cabs) where no matter what I always seems to be having to rake the crap out of my bass with my right hand just to be heard. The Acoustic, however, was like scarey and fun at the same time, hopefully when I get this new Acoustic rig together it will be the same kind of experience. Anyways, looking at your 470, I noticed all the A and B switches on the front. Did (does) it allow you to split the incoming signal into the 2 channels and send them to two different cabs and have independent EQ? Does it have a crossover? Or are those basically "either or" channels? I was curious because I have heard horror stories about Bass Bi-Ampping in general (not Acoustic) where some guys would put high quality crossover gear in the path somehow and although they still had plenty of power, just by doing so, they inadvertantly lost all their mids! My "simple" thought with having two independent heads (B200H's ) going to two different cabs (1 x B410 (highs & upper mids) and 1 x B115 (lows and lower mids) and only sharing the input signal was that I should not have that problem. Is my thinking here correct? Any suggestions on this are welcome.

Acoustic Control Corp's model 470 has 2 channels, but only one amplifier, to to answer your question about sending a separate signal from each channel,no It will not do this.It does not have A/B preamp outputs on the rear panel. The 2 channel model 470 and the single channel 450 both have a 170 watt power amp into any ohm load,(from 2-16 ohm load).This was also the same power amp used on Acoustic Control Corp's model 870 PA head.
You could use the 2 channels separately,but could not combine them together as on Acoustic Control Corp's model 320 and 330.
The most common way to Bi-amp the bass is to come out of a preamp, go into an electronic crossover,come out of the crossover and into the power amps,using one amp just to do the low and the other to do the highs. When I was using a bi-amped bass rig, I would set my x-over at 250 htz. Maybe tweaking it some around that frequency,depending on how boomy' the room I was playing in was,(anything below 250htz is omni-directional,you know it's there, but can't tell which direction it's coming from).

It's great to see so many people having good luck with the new Acoustic amps. But I've got a basement full of the old stuff, and just today I finally completed what may be the ultimate Acoustic rig, with the acquisition of a 301 cabinet. I've had my 370 for a while now and it's sounded great with every cabinet I've used with it, but I've always wanted one of the originals to go with it---the cabinet that was made for it, the mighty 301. Finally, a good deal on a relatively nice one came my way:
By the way, this rig is amazing. The sound must be heard to be believed.

I sold the same rig, about 7 months ago.
The 301 cabs are the bomb.
I have option to buy my rig back.(it is in a friend studio)
Seeing these pictures are giving me gas,
uh.. owl? Just because someone didn't post a pic ( to gain entry into the club) doens't mean they dont have more stuff lurking in the background! I've got a full 360 set up and an extra 360 cab that are older than dirt FWIW ( I know I shouldn't brag on Christmas. It's gauche, I know... like "the sweater I just got with the big ugly reindeer on the back is bigger AND uglier than yours!!").

ya I definitely want to check out the B600H, im also thinking about investing in the B410 for that rig.
FYI, wound up with a great deal on an Aguilar GS212 ... wow! Now I've noticed the 220 has a buzz in the tone ... could be that 5% THD coming through??
Haha ya they'll probably drive me to broke.
It also doesn't help that my neighbors are all elderly and enjoy their peace and quite.
Anyone here have an opinion on the B200 for practice to small gigs?
I tried it a bit at GC and was pretty impressed, more so than by many of the other similar amps there. I think this may be my next purchase but I'm a poor college student and I would really like the opinions of you acoustic guys before I blow my cash on something. Also, I see it weighs 75 lbs...that's a whole hell of a lot - how portable is this thing?

Just got one...and just played with a drummer....Great choice for rehearsal or practice...and can run an extension cab for small gigs.... Sounds so goood! I love the tone I am getting...better than amps twice the price Ive played through.
