I have played through the b100, and was blown away. Didnt play through the 260, but will give it a run before choosing, but sounds like the 100 would give me more bang for the old buck.

I have played through the b100, and was blown away. Didnt play through the 260, but will give it a run before choosing, but sounds like the 100 would give me more bang for the old buck.

Like he said....take a bass & play both...btw I love my B100, but if I do start gigging out this summer, i'm pretty sure I'm going with a 1/2...must PLAY LOUDER...ha ha!!
I ended up with the B100. Color me impressed! Finally my basses have some tone to them. My basses sound "grown up" over my little 15w Rumble. When SWMBO had to ask me to turn it down because the pictures were rattling, I smiled a little bit. I am glad this thread is here, cause I got educated about Acoustics.

The 260 is really a practice at home amp. It sounds nice at lower volumes but can not really hang when you are with drums and loud guitars. i did a few practices with mine and now just leave it home. It is great with headphones and a bass trainer. Sometimes I just take the little head along and plug it into a 2x10 for band practice.
The nice thing about the 260 is that it is not a combo. I can use the head for other purposes.

Congrats! Our Chinese Acoustics take a lot of abuse from TB'ers and even on the unofficial Acoustic forum, but I must say, in their defense, they do have a really nice tone and give a lot of bang for the buck. I heard mine for the 1st time with someone else playing through it in church...a high school girl with some sort of a knock-off P bass...and I can only describe the tone as "sweet".
That's a 230 sitting there. I used to tour with my friend's 220 for a few years, that amp started my love for Acoustics. I'm planning on using the 230/402 for actual gigging since it's very easy to move, more than powerful enough and it sounds fantastic. I found a footswitch for it, too. To me, the 230 is essentially a beast of a bass amp with the versatility and features of a good guitar amp.
The 140 into the 301 sounds incredible, too. I wish I had a 370 for the cab but I love the two channels in the 140. I can put my Bass Juice pedal on the bridge pickup and run the neck pickup clean. Three dimensional is the best word I can use to describe the sound.
And to think, I was seriously considering spending more than twice as much as these two rigs cost me for a full SVT stack. Don't get me wrong, I love the SVT but it'll be nice to not have to maintain tubes. I also like the idea of leaving one rig at each of the two rehearsal spaces I'm using. And of course, as impractical as it is, I love the idea of running stereo into both amps.

I've tried out most of the new GC Acoustics in the stores and I think they sound great. The B200H and B600H definitely have a nice vintage sound, to my ears. I think many object to the Acoustic name being slapped onto budget gear which is understandable since the old ones were top of the line in their day. I do, however, think GC has done an excellent job of making good sounding, affordable gear with an old school vibe.
I want the 260 for my bedroom so bad but not until I get a 370 first.
You might be very surprised how good their B20 might sound as a bedroom/practice amp.
Hey, I have an acoustic B200 combo amp and I want to wire it parallel with the external jack, so that I can run an external cab correctly (it's series right now, weird right?) has anyone done this and can give me some knowledge on how to do it?

That's why I asked him if he knew to Ohm reading of the internal driver - that would complicate things a little - not insurmountably, but a tad so anyway.

I did a search and couldn't find anything usefulEDIT: looks like if I swap out the internal for an 8-ohm speaker it's doable. That horn is crap anyways. Might be a summer project (when I have a job) though since I need an amp for the rest of the school year.
Changing drivers can be fraught with problems too - cone travel, air displacement, oddball electro-acoustic physical laws and then some just sound badder or worser than others in the same box.
