The bass you've always wanted?

Probably going to need a luthier but my dream bass would be an acoustic 6 string with a 30" scale.
That's definitely the most interesting response yet! Would that be tuned EADGBE?
EADGCF or BEADGC with flats. I was looking for a while, but ended up getting a kiesel Vader. It's perfect aside from being silent unplugged.

Maybe something closer to a guitarron, but with more frets and a cutaway.
Warwick makes one, but it's 34".

A 1979 (birth year) Fender Jazz.
A birth year bas or guitar would be cool.

Once at a guitar show there was no name, cheaply made tacky guitar for sae that was quite low priced--and it was a birth year one--so I thought about it--but it was when I was looking for a fretless bass (& I did check there for one, but didn't find any)--so I had reason that way not to buy the birth year guitar--but even if I had changed my mind right after that another guy bout it because ti was also his birth year.

I'm fortunate in that I own my dream bass. I'm now in gravy mode of my GAS.

That said, I've had a major crush on Carl Thompson basses since 1992, but I also thought it wouldn't feel like the right bass for me.. They're beautiful and I could ogle them for days (years actually), but I think it would be an awkward and very bold acquisition for me. A pipe dream I can't ever imagine coming to fruition. I will just continue to admire them.

I don't want to appear greedy or ungrateful seeing as how I have some crazy good basses, but...a Carl Thompson 5-string represents the final frontier for yours truly. Why? Because the bass would be a Carl Thompson. :)

My problem is, I've only heard what I've heard. If I haven't heard it, I don't want it. When I saw about 5 Warwick Corvette $$ for sale on TB a few weeks ago I went to the Warwick showroom and played only $$ all afternoon. Through an amp at a comfortable volume. I didn't just like the sound - I loved the sound. By the time I got home 4 of the Corvettes were already gone. I bought the last remaining one, a 2008 in Black. The color actually has no attraction to me but it does look good. And yeah there are a lot of YouTube videos with people playing their fav bass, but most really sound alike on the computer.

I own all my dream basses other than one. I can't even find information proving it exists, but I know it does because I played one. It was a used 5 string Alembic Exploiter with the Entwistle brass spider web inlays! It played like a dream. I didn't have the money at the time, so I let it slip out of my hands. Has anyone ever seen, or heard of this Alembic model??? I've never seen another 5 string like the one I played. It definitely wasn't a fake!

I don't doubt it exists - with Alembic's propensity for full-on customs and accommodating players' requests.

I have seen a 5-string Exploiter, but I don't think it had the web inlays.

BTW, those web inlays (on Alembics) are silver. They look like brass when the finish yellows.

This one had some yellowing I guess. I've never seen another one like it no matter how I Google it. I wish I had purchased it back then!
